The pathways of time - twisting, turning, branching. For every possible solution to a problem, there is another branch that forms and splits off. The path we know is the path we've forged through our own years of living, and this in turn forges the paths of others. Ordinarily, it's impossible for one to look and see what's down the pathways ahead because of our decisions, but there are those few who we perceive as being able to look down and see the future. We see them as such simply because they've made choices that, later in history, were either help or hinder to the human race.
In history, there have been many people looked upon this way. One in particular was the Head of Military Development for several factions, but now rebel, Sha Gojyo...
I didn’t really know what had come into my head on that day. Maybe it was the fall down the elevator, or maybe the fall out of bed. Bad days always seemed to start that way. When I was last awake, I could still hear the gunshots going off, their smooth slender pin shaft rotating, the screeching noise etched into my mind. The ship had been under attack by a group of mercenaries hired by the enemy. It could be assumed in this, since our ship was a “Cargo Ship”, that they knew of the Mobile Armor we were transporting.
12.04 am…
They boarded our ship around midnight last night. The alarms rung out, sending me in a surprised shock out of my bed and directly into the hard, metal floor. The cold metal sent shivers up my spine as I rapidly climbed to my feet. Even just on my feet, the floor still made me feel cold. A light yawn escaped my lips, but no glimpse of hot air could be seen. The physics of this ran its course through my head as I sat down on the bed, slipping my fuzzy rabbit slippers on. I was a rather odd being, a computer and science nerd by profession and habit. The new weapon, which was on board, was not what they called a mobile weapon, but more of a new type of Eingundam.
12.25 am..
I was dead tired, and didn’t feel like dealing with an attack this early in the morning. I would have went back to sleep if I hadn’t spent the last five years of my life in a lab developing this piece of junk. If there had been any thought in my head, I would have remembered to write NA a good bye letter, expressing my sincere apologies for shoving this event up their little asses. I smiled at that single thought, each neutrinos probe inside of my mind already clicking on and off in a reaction that would set the course for several events to come. I wasn’t authorized to carry a sidearm, so weapon wise, I was blank. I did however carry an extensive knowledge of this ship, and that would be my weapon. The white lab coat felt cold as I put it on, the thick cotton lining quickly warming my up. Gunshots were beginning to be heard, so the fight wasn’t far off. . .
12.40 am…[i/]
The invaders looked to be wearing Shinter uniforms, which didn’t really surprise me. I had made good use of the service corridors, which were off limits to basic soldiers. Very few knew how to get to the hanger, as it was usually high clearance access only. I didn’t bother concealing myself as I walked down the metal corridor. The lights were dimly lit, showing that only the backup generator was in use. This attack had been well planned, which meant someone on our side leaked. I could already take a shot at who it was, but I really didn’t care at this point in time. The dissension to the center of the ship was quick and easy, the corridor more like a downhill slide than anything else. Even with it already down hill, the ship had came to a stop, which made it much, much easier to make the trip. I slammed into the door, coming to a direct stop. My slippers planted themselves firmly down as I reached into my pocket to get my access badge. A blue light turned on as a slender rod extended from the wall, reaching up to my face. I peered into it, smiling as a simple tune danced through my mind.
“Access Approved”
I turned my body as the door began to open under me. A cool breeze flowed out of it, the hanger usually being the coldest part of the ship. Besides, it would have taken an entire other generator to heat it, and we didn’t have that kind of budget. I could feel the wall behind me as I slid through the door, listening to the click of it as it closed itself. The entire hanger was pitch black, but that didn’t bother me any. I pulled my companion out of my pocket, a simple zippo. The zippo was an artifact of the old earth, passed down in my family. On one side it bore the family crest, and on the other my name. I smiled as it lit up, the dancing flames sending shadows scattering out of its light. I reached into the wall hold, my long fingers twisting around a large switch as I pulled it forward. The hum of the backup generator lightened as the lights in the hanger kicked on. I didn’t have much time now, they would be able to see the lights from the windows. The stars peered down upon me as I floated over to the access bridge, the large red and black suit standing tall and proud in all its hidden glory. Neither side would have this machine.. no.. it was mine.. I would take it and use it as I deemed fit .. This was the beginning of my adventure, of my story. Now I would take control…
1.05 am…
I knew that putting leather in this thing was a good idea. A mental note told me to get a seat cover next time I had a chance. I pulled the large straps around my waist as my arms extended downwards onto the control panel. I wasn’t a special type, a newtype, or a coordinator, but I still new this system better than anyone else. MY fingers began moving rapidly, as if they were communicating directly from my mind. I didn’t feel the controls being pressed, but the commands and access codes scrolling across the main view screen told me what I needed to know. L2 was coming into view, and I made that my mental destination.
“what a pity they shall never leave…”
I smiled recklessly, already aware of the bloodshed I was about to cause. Out here, no one would hear them scream. The visions of the work that I did on the Archangel shot through my mind as I slammed my palms upon the thruster controls. It was time for me to now leave this place. The green lights that stood as this suits eyes glowed as the cooling tubes shot off. The main power source activated and the wings of the demon spread. The grin widened as I looked up through the main window. IT wasn’t wide enough for me to walk through, so it seemed I would have to blow it up. A chaotic glow erupted out of my eyes as the suit raised its heat rod, the sword breaking into its normal parts as it turned into a whip. It glowed, nearly the same color as my eyes as it was thrust upwards, slashing itself through the thick steel and titanium wall. The glass shattered as the ship shook. I stepped out of it, the force of the vacuum sending me out faster than I had cared for. I grinned as I turned around, the vulcan cannons atop my head opening fire directly upon the ship. It was as I thought.. I couldn’t hear them scream…
1.40 am…
News of the attack had already been sent to the news, but the name of the suit that was on that ship was still classified. I smiled as I leaned back in the seat, closing my eyes. I still had another hour or so until I would reach L2.. until then.. it would be time for me to get that rest I had wanted . .
