The CO of Alameda sat in his chair on the command deck. He sipped his coffee very slowly as he heard Shadow's message. Gabriel stood in darkness beside him.
"Fox, its your call. Since our central authority isn't telling us anything right now..."
Gabriel stepped up to the comm. He looked at the image of Shadow's face in front of him.
"The Graveyard, 20 miles west of here. Half an hour."
Gabriel left the command deck and walked quickly down the hallway. He knew he had to hurry to ready the Archangel for launch, as well as get a group of his best fighters together. Two minutes passed and Gabriel walked into the mess deck. All the remaining members of the Midnight Faction were eating evening chow, when one of them saw their commander walking into the room.
"Attention on deck!"
Everyone jumped to their feet at attention. Gabriel stood in the front of the place, ready to give an announcement.
"I need the following people to come with me. Jones, Miller, Ramirez, Wilson, and Gates. The rest of you, as you were."
The rest of the hall sat down and continued their meal, as the selected soldiers threw away what they had left of chow. They gathered around their commander, and when he saw that everyone he asked for was in front of him, he motioned for the group to follow them. They all walked silently down the hall, still wondering why they had to leave in the middle of chow.
Gabriel called down to the repair decks.
"Erdossy, I need you to finish whatever part of my suit you're working on and send her up to the hangar deck. I also need you to rouse Leo, and tell him to get ready to go."
The doctor replied, "Okay. Repairs to your armor are already finished."
"Good. Fox, out." Gabriel ended the transmission.
Ramirez, Gabriel's XO, was clueless. "Sir, why do you need us?"
"I'll brief you on the hangar deck. Right now I need you guys to get your gear on as fast as possible, and move your suits up to the hangar deck. We need to be moving out in about ten minutes max."
Ramirez nodded in reply, as he led the others into the locker room. Gabriel continued on his course to the repair docks. Moments passed and he arrived, and saw Archangel ready to go.
"Erdossy, what is the fastest way to get her to the hangar deck?"
"Send her straight up. The hangar deck is about four levels above us."
"Good. Send her up with her armaments ready; I'll get her at the hangar deck."
Gabriel waved and got onto the nearest elevator-to head on to his quarters, which were back on the command deck. He reached his destination in a mere two minutes, and entered. It was a rather quaint multiroom suite, with a substantial amount of living space. He had always been a fan of Japanese culture, as could be seen by scattered bamboo trees and artwork on the walls.
He walked into his office and opened his locker. As he began to pull things out, he made a quick glance out the window, and admired the near perfect view.
Moments passed and he was dressed to go. He pulled out his katana and Desert Eagle, and secured them to the specified places on his utility vest. He turned off the lights, walked back out the door, and headed down the hall. The hangar deck was only a short walk away, and he got there quickly. Archangel was already there, and so were Gabriel's men with their suits. He found them and regrouped, and prepared to brief them on the situation.
"Okay you guys, here's why I pulled you out of chow. A man named Shadow has showed up carrying the Senate, and is asking for 15 mil in return for them. He threatens to blow them up if we don't give him what he wants. And its our job to see to it that the senators get back here alive. I've called you all up here because you're my top pilots, and I need my best to help keep the peace."
The others replied with a simple nod.
"Let's go. I've had Erdossy send you all some special weapons to use. Jones, I need you to load four Phalanx CIWS point defense weapons all with individual mounts, and we need an SST5 perimeter device. Erdossy has sent all of this stuff up as well, but we need a way to carry it."
Jones replied, "I'm using my Mk III; I'll load all of that stuff onto a tow containter to take with us."
"Good." Gabriel replied. "Let's move out."
Each member of the team walked to their suits and prepared to exit the hangar deck. They wouldn't have time to load into the launch tubes, so the team would have to leave simply by the front door. In a matter of moments each team member was in their suits, ready to go.
Gabriel called Leo, for he was at the other end of the hangar- in the Einhander docking section.
"Leo! Have you taken off already?"
"Yeah Gabe. I'm waiting for ya outside."
"Good. We'll be out in a few."
Gabriel looked over the status of his systems.
"HALO: Run systems check."
HALO: Initializing... Interface Access Approved. Scanning... /CNPU OK /PMCU OK /PTRM OK /ACRS OK /DCRU OK /DCMB OK /EAVCCH OK /NAVCOM OK All systems functioning at 100 percent. All systems GO for launch.
Gabriel nodded his head as he strapped himself in. He had already secured his sword and gun behind him. To his right side he secured the crate of $15 million that had already been placed in there.
"Team, report in."
"Ramirez here, all systems go."
"Jones here, all systems go."
"Miller, all systems go."
"Wilson, sir, all systems go."
"Gates, all systems are go."
Gabriel nodded again. "Fox, all systems go. Let's get going!"
Archangel's wings fluttered, and thrusters immediately cut on. The suit levitated several feet off the ground. Gabriel pushed the throttle up and the Gundam moved forward and out of the open hangar door, followed by the rest of the team. They regrouped with Leo, and once beyond Alameda's gates, Gabriel increased thrust, and the Gundam took off. The Mk. IIIs and Leo were close behind. At their current rate of speed it would take them approximately fifteen minutes to reach the Graveyard.

Shadow got the message and left the base with the truck following close behind. He headed directly to the area mentioned since his ground speed didnt allow him to make it on time if he stopped anywhere.
"This is shadow. Brian, do you read me? Im headed to hte staging area, and its better than we hoped for. Get the trucks ready, and make them headed towards alameda, thats where the NA suits will be coming from."
A double beep from the other side of the line meant he understood the call. If all works out well, this would be relatively easy going from now on. Shadow daydreamed about how his life would be when he got all that money. He would never have to worry about paying for bowling again. He could play all he want and never...
"Where the hell are you going?!" the driver of the truck yelled loud enough to wake shadow from his daydream.
"Wa?" Shadow looked behind him, where the truck had allready stopped a few dozen yards away. They had allready made it to the site.
Shadow stopped his suit and unleashed a medium density minovsky particle broadcast throughout the area. now all radiowaves, including radar, were rendered useless. The sensors range on his HUD had lowered significantly, and the only operable sensors were thermal and vision. His suit was not equiped with active scan or minovsky particle density readers. But that wasnt necasary.
The other trucks slowly parked next to the one holding the senate and nuclear bomb. They surrounded and protected it.
Shadow held up the switch that would trigger the bomb in case anything happens in his hand and spun it in his fingers lazily, waiting for the enemy to show up...

From the dim, misty fog that surrounded the negotiation site emerged a group of six Gundams and an Einhander-the NA representatives.
"Team, spread out and set up that perimeter. I want all weapons ready and all Phalanx systems switched to manual targeting until they are mounted. Keep your eyes on the movements of the enemy."
The team did so without hesitation, creating a protective perimeter around the entire site, and mounting all four Phalanx systems on separate scaffolds.
Ramirez: "Sir, we've successfully put up the perimeter. All defenses are up and running, Phalanx CIWS on manual."
Gabriel: "Good. Keep them on manual until it is clear their intentions are not hostile."
Ramirez: "Understood."
Archangel stepped forward, while the other suits of the NA group got into a protective formation close behind. All aimed their weapons at the enemy, all ready to strike if the situation went sour.
Gabriel addressed his adversaries. "I want to make this short, sweet, and without any trouble. Here are my demands before I send over the money: I need to see everyone that was evacuated from the tunnels. We'll send the money over at the same exact time. Don't try anything funny because I'll know if you lie, or if you are planning an ambush. As a gesture of faith, NA Team, aim Phalanx systems to the sky and set to automatic!"
The team does so, letting the weapons system switch to automated.
Gabriel continues addressing the enemy. "The Phalanx beam gatlings won't attack you unless I switch them back to manual and shoot them at you myself. Their real purpose here is to make sure we don't have any unwanted visitors coming from above. Understood? Now, let's get started."
And with that, the negotiations began.

Gabriel paused in his speech. His head began to ache.
"Give me a moment."
Gabriel closed his eyes, and began having a vision of something terrible coming, something about horrible about to happen.
"Alameda, come in."
"We copy, Commander. Go ahead."
"Something is coming. I don't yet know what it is, but its something really bad. Perform a full security lockdown. Do we have any vital facilities above ground?"
"No sir. We have always kept vital areas armored and bunkered. Always."
"Keep them that way. I need extra security patrols outside to ensure defensive capability. Contact Erdossy and tell him to ready all exterior weapons systems."
"Yes sir. Understood."
Gabriel terminated his transmission to Alameda, and began one to his team.
"Everyone, I need you to get ready. When I give you the command to do so, I need you to deactivate the perimeter and evac as fast as humanly possible. Don't bother about the Phalanx guns, we have plenty back at home base. Understood?"
"Yes sir!" they all replied in unison.
"Mr. Shadow, as we were discussing..."

"I hold the button!" Shadow yelled. "I will give the orders!"
"First, things first. I dont have a guarantee that when the senate is exchanged, that i will have a ticket out of here. So ill give myself one. I will leave this area, and in 3 minutes my infared signal will be out of range from the nuke. Thats when you can retreive the senate. If you move a step closer then ill press the button!"
The truckdriver got out and opened the back door. Although nothing was visible inside from the height of the gundams, and the place was too dark to see anything clearly.
"Now hand over the money. I dont have any reason to stay any longer."

"Show me the senate first. Then I'll give you the money."
Gabriel was unwavering.
"I need to see them standing there outside of the truck before we make this exchange."

"Stupid negotiations..." Kurow mutters to himself. He has been secretly watching the precedings since the Archangel arrived. "This is going nowhere. I shouldn't have left the Spiegel behind, but it would have been to noticeable. If I can sneak over to where the senators are being held, maybe I can rescue them. Here goes."
Kurow slips in and out through the shadows, moving quietly. He slowly and carefully aproaches the group of trucks, and arms himself with some shurikens. "Lets hope this works...." He quickly climbs onto the roof of one of the bodyguard trucks and jumps off on the other side, making his way toward the truck with the nuke. He quickly eliminates the guard with a shuriken to the throat, and enters the truck. "Okay, so all I've gotta do is disable the detonator. No sweat." Kurow removes a piece of the outer shell, and carefully snips a couple wires. "That should do it. Now to get to the senators...."

the blast from those projectiles sent a shockwave across the area and temporarily threw back the fog. a small figure was knocked out of the trailer and fell to the ground. the nuke slid out of the trailer and fell onto the ground.
Shadow cursed to himself "Oh, Fuck!" He flew up above ground and floated above everyone. "Done try anything stupid-asshole!"
The Plunge type gundam transformed into it's waverider mode and flew off into the distance. The acceleration was so powerful it sent a sonic boom, shattering the truck windows and deafening Kurow. In a matter of seconds Shadow was out of sight.
"See you in hell!" Shadow presses the button to explode the nuke...

'click'...'click'...'click-click-click'...
"what the hell!" shadow yelled.
The bomb had not detonated. although the fog covered the area, if the bomb had detonated, he would had seen it even at this range.
"That man...damn it all!"
...meanwhile, back in the osiris command center...
"Sir the switch is activated..."
"Good. close the curtain..."
"Yes sir. Launching beam interference missiles."
the other trucks guarding the nuke truck in the center opened upper doors, and missiles lifted up. the missiles stopped lifting when they were about vertical. The smoke billowing from the bottoms of them were greyer than the fog. they launched without warning into the air with a high velocity.
The missiles exploded in the air, some were hit by the phalanx guns and others detonated by themselves.
the gas and other chemicals entered the atmosphere and clouded the sky with multicolored schemes like oil glaring on water. suddenly all infared, radar, and density scanners failed. No sensor systems were operational.
Shadow saw the missiles and slowed down in the distance to watch, as they exploded, the entire base was covered, and his sensors lost sight of anything there. "damn..."
"this is shadow, what the hell was that? brian, answer me damn it! what happened to the nuke! what the hell did you do? and what the hell is that multicolored shit?!"
there was no answer. after five minutes, shadow changed course and exited the atmosphere. once he was in space he made one final burst, then shut off his rockets and vernian engines to save fuel. he would be at the moon in few hours...

"God damn it! Team, check sensors!"
"All sensors are unavailable, sir! All we have is visual and audio!"
"Estimated time till we get all sensors back online?"
"I don't know; ten to fifteen minutes if we get the hell out of here!"
Gabriel cursed to himself. The negotiations had gone off horribly, with the confused and flustered senators clinging onto the inside of the transport truck. A dark burning smoke filled the air, and drove away the mist. It was clear that someone in the sky wanted the group dead...
"Jones! Get the senators out of here ASAP!"
"Yes sir!"
Suddenly, Gabriel began to hear a faint radio transmission attempting to break through the interference. A few moments of adjusting the frequency and the transmission became clearer, until finally Gabriel could make out every word that its sender was attempting to broadcast...
"This is Midnight Faction Base Alameda to all remaining soldiers loyal to the Nocturne Alliance: we are under massive attack by rebel forces and request any available assistance! We have sustained a small amount of exterior damage due to aerial bombardment, and suspect enemy forces in the upper atmosphere are responsible. Repeat, we are in need of major assistance!"
Gabriel turned his view to the darkness ahead, and through the smoke and smog he could see explosions in the distance.
"Team! This is a high-priority alert! We need to get the hell out of here and back to Alameda! She's under attack!"
The other members of the team cursed to themselves as Jones returned with the small group of still-living senators.
"Jones here, sir-they're all here. I've got them inside of the tow container all safe and sound."
"Good." Gabriel pauses a moment and looks around the general area.
"We need to be careful of stragglers, also of any other groups of Osiris suits. Leave all unessential gear here; forget about the Phalanx unless they can be shoulder-mounted or hand carried, and manually shot. Keep all radio transmissions to a minimum until we get to Alameda. Go in from the back, and get a good fortified position inside the Main Deck."
The team drops all gear they don't need, and prepare to depart.
"Diamond formation. Hector and Jones, face forward with me; everyone else take up the rear. Move out!"
Archangel hovers and takes point, followed by the small group of Mk IIIs. The team makes their way as fast as they can to the rear of Alameda, reaching the gates within a matter of minutes. They are quickly recognized by security and are escorted in carefully and quietly. Once all team members and the senators are safely inside of the compound, the heavily armored doors slam shut. The attack on Alameda had begun, and it would take every resource, every ounce of manpower to defeat the enemy.

The pilots of the Negotiating team quickly open their cockpits and get out onto the floor of the Main Deck. The senators had already been taken out of the tow container, and were safe and sound at the infirmary. Gabriel and his group immediately break off into a dead sprint to the Command Center.
After about five minutes of running and taking elevators, they finally reach their destination. People are buzzing around everywhere, attempting to get sensors and weapons systems back up. Gabriel sees the Commandant standing in the midst of technicians. He runs over to get the scoop on what is happening.
"Sir, what's happened?"
"We're under massive assault by Osiris forces, and there has been some aerial bombardment from an unknown source in the upper atmosphere. The MP security team is holding the Osiris mecha off for now, but we need to mobilize Midnight Faction forces to wipe them out."
"Yes sir, I'll address the troops. What's the word on the base's exterior weapons systems?"
"Down for now I'm afraid; but they should be up and running in about five to ten minutes."
One of the technicians interjects. "I've just gotten word that the emergency washdown system has been activated, and the chemicals that have covered the base should be washed away relatively quickly. From there it will be easy to get our sensors back up."
Gabriel turns to the Commandant. "I'm heading down to the Main Deck. I need someone to send an announcement throughout the base; all Midnight Faction pilots are to report to that hangar immediately, ready to take off."
"Don't worry about it, just get down there."
Gabriel nods in reply, and motions for his team to follow. They travel as fast as they can in the direct opposite direction of where they came, reaching the Main Deck in three minutes time. The troops have assembled and are all in formation, ready for their orders. Gabriel takes a spot in front of them as the Battalion Commander calls the men to attention.
"At ease. This is the current situation. We are at Code Red. The Osiris traitors have decided to launch a massive attack on us, and so far they've breached the outer concrete walls. The MPs are putting up one hell of a fight, but they won't be able to hold the fort for long. This is a mission of the highest priority; it is for the survival of the Nocturne Alliance, the survival of the Midnight Faction, the survival of our last standing base-Alameda. If we lose, we die, and our cause is lost. But if we win, we will have shown everyone that we are still powerful, that we are one hell of a force to reckon with!"
The troops cheer with tremendous enthusiasm.
"Let us show Osiris the pathway to damnation, let them realize that they have angered a giant! Give 'em hell!"
The yelling from the troops is deafening as Gabriel runs over to Archangel. He climbs to the suit's cockpit and yells out one final command...
"Move out!"
All pilots break out of formation and run to their suits. A majority of the mecha are Mark IIIs, but there are several Mark IIs and other types scattered around here and there. Gabriel and his team readied themselves to mobilize.
"This is Commander Fox to all MF pilots, gather around me for a moment. I need Division 2 to guard the interior, and Division 1 to act as frontal assault. I want Division 4 and 3 to exit the east and west hangar doors so as to prevent any confusion in the primary doorway. Mobile Armor divisions A through C; I need you to pack up the most powerful weapons you have and get ready to launch into the upper atmosphere. You have to find what the hell bombarded us and blow it to pieces."
Gabriel pauses as the Mobile Armor divisions break away and head to their launch tubes.
"All suit divisions, listen up. What we must attempt to do is create a wall in front of Osiris and repel all resistance. If this attempt doesn't work, then we retreat inside and create a fortified line. We must make sure the central command HQ and the vital below surface levels are sealed off and protected at all costs. Let's go!"
The armored hanger doors open to reveal a sight of war, with explosions and gunfire cutting into the landscape. From the haze and seemingly endless void ahead appear countless Osiris mobile weapons pushing the MPs back, and attempting to enter the complex. Gabriel stays back with the Negotiation group and watches Division 1 rush out the doorway to destiny...

The alarm sounded and the workers that were repairing my gundam dropped what they were doing and left for other areas.
The Hyperion had a MKIII's arm frame attached since they couldn't make my old arm design. The foot was still not replaced with anything, and the gundam was only being held up by the shoulder harnesses. The damaged parts of armor were replaced by the technicians at the same time they attached on the armor for the new gundam.
The comlinks throughout the hangar said that the attacks came from above and from the northern wall.
I sent a message to silas. "Silas, launch me out."
"What! your suit repairs aren't complete! Oh well I guess you dont really have a choice. Ill see what I can do."
After a few moments my gundam launched straight up through one of the vertical tunnels and into the open air. Rounds of ammunition were being fired everywhere and my noise cancelor activated. I flew up into the air until it turned orange and green, then red. My sensors were all jammed and i lost all signals to the base.
Past that was the blue reappeared and slowly faded over to black, until the stars shown brightly.
7 gigantic red ships came into view as the sun glared on their newly painted armor. There was another suit ahead of me going the same direction, but it didnt notice me. Was that suit an enemy? I had no way to confirm it, so I decided to attack. I activated my left arm charged neutral minovsky saber and it unfolded. This was the enemy and i was to destroy it.
No matter what...

I walked over to the commander in the main control room. The door was unlocked, since that was the last of there worries.
"Commander, i realize your busy but i suggest we make a plan to get out of here. They blew off half a mile of dirt on top of us and explosed with one barrage! Who know if they have more of those things! We arent dealing with the Osiris! They attacked them as well. Who ever this is, they are indiscriminant to our problems with this faction. We need to be able to leave just in case!"

(Alameda Commandant Fox)
"I understand. I have some of my best forces keeping a lane open for us from the rear of the base. There we have about six independent launch tubes, two heavily armored large hangar doors, and two emergency escape exits. Not to mention we have a deep underground emergency train system ready to evacuate anyone who needs to leave to our sister base, Helene. It's our absolute last resort. As of now we have our exterior weapons systems up and running, and if we need to unleash some serious firepower, we will."
The Commandant stood to his feet to greet the technicians from the Research Docks.
