"Wow. That was good simulation. How'd you know my skills and weaknesses?"
<*Simple, really. I received all the old data from your past missions in both the Swift Wind and Amatu. I could base the senarios off of that. In short, you have a lot of honing to do on your long range shots, as well as fist fighting. But you reflexes are phenominal. I suppose that's a trait amongst elite pilots.*>
"I suppose so. What's your name going to be? I dont' have a way of refering to you."
<*Why, of course you do. I am sub-index console.*>
"I guess a more human name is what I mean. You can be Elisia. Like it?"
<*I am not sentient. But because you chose it, I will accept it as a sign of ... friendship?*>
"Not really friendship. I just don't want to talk to a block all day long."
<*Very well then. Would you like for me to continue listing my capabilities?*>
"Very much so. You may begin where you left off."
<*I see. I can calculate threats of yourself, as well as opposing pilots. I can take complete control over the suit upon only your voice command and password of "freedom." I also have a psycommu link to your Newtype psyco-waves. I can read these, use the optimum ones, as well as add in my own reaction time and strategic expertise. In battle, I won't really speak to you, all you must do is think. I believe the tech workers called this link a bio-computer.
A special upgrade of your bio-computer, however, is the amplification of your brain waves. Your psyco-waves are slightly above average for that of a newtype, but your intellect is nearly unsurpassed. With your amplified psyco-waves, you will be able to attain faster reaction time, better aim, and extremely exagerated newtype ability, which could very well put you on an even playing field with some of the elites. *>
"Lions and tigers and upgrades, Oh my! Seem like those tech-nerds pulled all the stops. And what does my new, fresh minvosky drive do?"
<*Fresh? I will catalogue it into my vernacular database. On the topic, the minovsky drive makes your thruster output skyrocket, and your acceleration is all but neglected. You will be able to reach stunning speed, and with the apogee motors, you will be able to acheieve higher altitudes in a shorter time. All of this, of course, is watched very closely by my coolant program.
In addition to the other features I have already named, your target aquisition system has been upgraded. I have conpensated for your lack of aiming skills, and the computer will aim it according to your thoughts. This makes shooting long distances easy enough for a kindergartener. Basically, if you can think fast enough, the suit will respond as fast as mechanically possible. The lock aquistion has been lowered further, to a low 0.1 seconds.
If you have further questions, please bring them up now. If not, either initate sleep sequence or continue the training regimine I have scheduled for you.*>
"I'd like to keep training. What do you have for me?"
<*Rocket science, as well as problem solving exercises of varing difficulty.*>
"Let's stick to the problem solving."
<*Good. This is testing to see how quickly you can think, which will up your combat speed, since all you have to do now is think.
Problem #1: In orbit of Earth, two Zakus attack you with beam rifles from points 30.12.93 and 15.52.45. What is your course of action?*>
Points instantly plotted themselves around Earth at the named locations, both red specs and he a green spec. The training had begun.

"The Stratigen has been launched, and is at maximum thrust output. We calculate that it should reach the jettison point just ahead of the orbital fleet and deploy the Schwarzgeist in approximately seven minutes. The ground war down here is getting rough; we might need reinforcements soon if we cannot gain an edge on the rebels."
Gabriel nodded in reply, as he watched the seriousness in Wehrmacht's face. He knew that the German contingent of the Alliance had only so many usable and battle-ready suits, due to political problems affecting Neo Berlin. Ishima and the group sent to defend the Schwarzgeist launch would be their only hope.
"Alright Wehrmacht. I'm not going to lie to you, but outside of MF, there are no real reinforcements. And all of us here except for who I sent to help you are going to be needed for the space offensive. Until we catch a break on that and get more units battle-ready, you're on your own."
Wehrmacht sighed.
"Understood. We'll try our best. Wehrmacht out."
Gabriel glanced at the HALO status screen to his starboard side.
"Hey Leo, the Schwarzgeist is up. We are ready to move out."
"Alright, I'm as good to go as I'll ever be."
Gabriel accessed his intercom, and sent out an announcement over the 1MC.
"Attention all Division Commanders, the time has come to move out. All fleet ships will deploy simultaneously and we will head straight for the Atlantic. The trip should take only about twenty minutes because of the location of Helene close to the coast. From there we will launch for space, and use orbital gravity to bring us south of the Shinter Fleet. The Schwarzgeist will attack before us to the north, catching the enemy by surprise. Keep one thing in mind: we must be as stealthy as possible to get into position. They must not know much about our movements until it is too late. The Schwarzgeist's purpose is to provide us cover, so we MUST let it attack first. Do not engage until I give you the command to do so, and even then be careful how you approach. Understood?"
"Yes sir!" was the reply.
"Alright, carry on, and let's get the hell out of here."
And with that, the fleet began to deploy. From the dark and dusty surface of the ground surrounding Helene, in several strategic points, large passageways were revealed. Out from these passageways emerged battleships, cruisers, mobile armors, you name it-all of which silently and stealthily gathered together in a formation. Once every last ship and suit exited the the passageways, the doors sealed securely and quickly shut, disappearing into the sand as if they had never existed in the first place.
"Alright, let's go!"
The entire fleet began to move, as quietly and quickly as possible, to the direction of the coastline. It would be twenty minutes before they would reach their destination.
In the meantime, Gabriel had gotten out of his Gundam and walked to the Officers' Lounge. He contacted Leo on the way, asking him to come to discuss an important issue. Needless to say, Leo knew by the tone of his friend's voice that he wasn't kidding when he said important.
Gabriel tapped his fingers upon the table as he sipped a cup of hot green tea. At this point Leo entered the room.
"Hey man, take a seat."
Leo did so, although still clueless about what Gabe had in his mind.
"I know you have no idea why I called you here, but an issue has arisen where I believe an importance of Special Operations has exceeded the capabilities of some of the Midnight Faction forces."
He pulled from the chair next to him a file deemed classified, and handed it to his friend. Leo opened the file, and began reading the information inside.
"Project RED CELL? What exactly is this?"
"It's information concerning a special forces team that the Midnight Faction will be forming, made of the best and brightest of this group of talented individuals."
Leo read further.
"Why the name Red Cell?"
"It goes way back to the days of the special forces known as the Navy SEALs. Red Cell was an elite team of SEALs put together to perform counter-terrorist operations, mainly conducting staged raids on US military bases and government installations to test security measures. The team easily infiltrated, revealing many severe flaws, but eventually the team was dismantled by certain forces in Congress."
"Oh."
"Well, what do you think? Give me your opinion here."
Leo thought for a moment...

<*Very good. Already, your mental capacity is going up, and you're growing accustomed to the computer link to your psyco-waves.*>
"Why, thank you Elisia. Now, if you don't mind, could you explain to me the last things you didn't get to..."
<*Sure. I, the main computer, have complete control over the entire Gundam, and you are directly wired to me. This means that you have entire control over the suit. I can reroute power from the apogee motors to the minovsky drive, or vice versa. I can also harness the gained energy from your Maga-no-Ikutachi. When you wield this sword, you will have excelerated speed. The armor on your suit is of Phase Shift Armor, which can take a severe beating before any damage is done to the frame. Extraordinary really. Phase Shift rivals only Gundanium alloy in strength. Your armor has been custom made to channel the heat from the minovsky drive out through it. This means you cool extremely fast. *>
"Okay. I guess I'll be on standby. If you need to alert me of any developments in the combat, just gimme a buzz."
Ain took a cell phone from the cockpit of the suit, and put it on his hip. This phone was the computer - in mobile form. Deciding to survey the progress of the other suits, he took a stroll... more appropriately called a float through the hangar's empty space, gently dodging and propelling off of floating crates and cords.

Ain was jumping off of crates and grabbing hold of some to get around in the hangar when suddenly something hit him in the back, attaching on to the compact jetpack that was standard on all Shinter Forces normal suits.
It pulled him backwards with such force that he couldnt turn around to see what it was until he hit a railing.
"Damn it! that hurt!" Ain yelled. His didnt need his newtype powers to predict exactly who did this.
"Where the hell were you! I was looking for you for the last fucking hour!" Shadow yelled. He detached the magnetic grappling hook off of Ain's jetpack with the push of a button.
"I was in my Gundam."
"What! I knocked on the cockpit door a thousand times! What the hell were you doing?"
"I was simulating battles. The sound was kicked up high, so i didnt hear you. Why the hell do you care anyway?"
"We're being deployed out. Since the enemy could only hit us from the sides we're gonna be deployed to one of the fronts."
"Which one?"
"I dont know, the back is allready well guarded by that selenian faction, and the front has most of our slades. If Ezekiel were still here i could ask him but he aint, so im left in the dark. I know this much because i was poking around a bit while you were inside playing games."

"Alright then. We're going to the front lines. I want to slow down the NA forces as much as I can. Are you with me?"
Shadow had a devilish grin on his face, characteristic to his being.
"Why, of course. I'll tell the others to ready their suits. Until then."
"See ya!" Ain shouted over the buzz of mechanics bustling to and fro. He grabbed his cell phone and spoke into it clearly. "Elisia, I'm coming back. We're deployed to the front lines. Out."
He got back to his suit, got inside, and keyed in the start sequence. The numbers and text scrolled faster than light down the screen, blurring and merging together.
"Commence all pre-flight and combat checks. I want you in tip top condition."
Hisses and recompression could be heard throughout the cockpit, adjusting to his adrenaline output in his body.
<*All checks and rechecks have been finished. I will now open links to all other squad team members.*>
Ain sighed. He was ready to fight, and eager to get there, but tried to calm himself and still his mind. Too many distractions could get him killed. The channel winking on his main display reawoke his consious self.
"Ready to do this, huh?" It was Shadow.
"Oh yeah. Let's kick these NA bastard's asses. These new line slades they're whipping up should be reallly good."
"Uh-huh. Check on the rest of the unit, ok Shadow? I want them all in tip-top shape. I've also installed a little 'secret' shall I say onboard of my fresh, new Amatu."
"Stop bragging."
"No. Now go check. Out."
Ain's channel winked out of existence, and he was surrounded by the near-blackness of the cockpit, the only illumination glowing eerily into the empty abyss. He would not let anyone destroy him or his military. The Shinter would crush the NA. No exceptions.

"Red Cell, huh?" Leo said after a moment.
His mind raced back, he'd always been one to play games in his spare time bewteen Einhander missions. During the war getting items like game consoles was very difficult but if an Einhander pilot wanted it, he got it. Leo remembered another pilot who'd managed to get one and seemed to be a fan of playing older shooter games and such. So, Leo had asked for a game he'd been wanting to play and now the name of this unit Gabe was asking about reminded him of a unit in that game. Dead Cell.
After a time he chuckled at the fond though, one of only a few he'd had durning the war. He brought himself back to the present and spoke. "Well, the name rings a few old bells in my head. But I think it's a pretty good idea, I'm assuming that you'll be wanting me to join?" He didn't wait for Gabe's nod to keep going. "Well, it'll have to wait for now. I need to keep my mind focused on the battle ahead."
He looked down at his left hand and the ammount of bandages around it. The doctor had given him a fair ammount of pain killers, but not enough to knock him out of make him feel all fuzzy and warm. Still he felt some pain, he looked back to Gabe again.
"Listen....I'm sorry about before....I haven't exactily had the best of memories concerning the Empire. I've heard about the trouble that their having.....that they are putting their lives on the line for us. I don't think I can ever forgive them....but....after this I know I've started to respect them."
He stopped and shook his head again then stood. "I'd better go, the fleet is about to go into space so I'd better run the last checks on Caligo. Oh yeah....thanks for the new suit, black and silver suits. me." He winked and laughed as he walked out and made his way back to the hanger.

"Is my baby ready yet?"
<*I wasn't aware that you had offspring, and that I was supposed to ready them for combat.*>
"Good lord! When am I going to program some sense into you? I meant the surprise we have for the NA forces?"
<*I'm sorry for misinterpreting the question. The Psyco-wave distortor is ready for combat. When should I initiate it?*>
"When the battle begins. I don't want anybody knowing my newtype strengths and weaknesses, as well as my position. This thing should work better than the other low-end technologies for psyco-wave stealth."

"Approaching jettison point. ETA ten seconds..."
A secton at the top of the Stratigen spacecraft began to open, revealing the Schwarzgeist orbital platform inside. The Shinter fleet was in view of sensor range just due south, and the craft had just exited the thermosphere.
"Launch is go. Deploying Schwarzgeist..."
The orbital platform was jettisoned, leaving its lower rocket booster behind to fall back to Earth. Operation Black Ghost had been put into action. Using its apogee motors and boosters to position itself in the direction of the Shinter fleet, the craft quickly began to pick up speed. It would only be a matter of seconds until the fleet noticed the monster coming toward them...
"Sir, we got incoming!"
"No doubt its their first assault. Front lines, prepare yourselves for the attack!"
Coming closer and closer the Schwarzgeist began to slow itself down, and prepared to strike. As soon as its weapons were in range it began to unleash a fury of firepower and wrath upon the suits fortified at the front lines. It quickly gained a short upper hand, destroying a squad of suits during its first volley without much effort. But as more and more Shinter suits converged, the Schwarzgeist's advantage would prove not as useful.
Meanwhile, back on the Atlantic, the Midnight Faction fleet awaited the command to launch, ensuring that the Schwarzgeist would succeed in providing somewhat of a distraction.
"Commander, the Schwarzgeist has begun its assault. We are waiting for your command to launch, sir."
"Good. Stand fast for now."
"Aye sir."
After talking with Leo in the lounge, Gabriel decided it best to get back to the hangar bay. Sitting back in his pilot seat, he began to think about the battle ahead.
"Let them hear me roar, let them be scared by my motivation and sheer determination. God guide me, help me destroy my enemies, and attain pure and undeniable victory."
He grabbed his silver crucifix neclace and kissed it, and put it back underneath his shirt.
"Launch countdown at final launch sequence. Five, four, three, two, one, launch."
Every ship in the fleet quickly accelerated and went vertical, moving as fast as possible to get into orbit south of the Shinter fleet. The time it would take to get there and deploy mobile suit forces-ten minutes.

Leo sat in the cockpit of Caligo, his helmet on but the face of it still up. He'd already strapped in and used his right hand to flip various switches and push buttons as he set up a special surprise for the fleet. With a grim smile he spoke softly to himself, Gabe had his own sayings and this was his. The same thing he always said before a major battle as an Einhander pilot.
"There is no mission too hard, No foe too strong, There are no armies too large, No challange too great, I am an Einhander pilot, Death flies at my shoulder, And I will win the day."
Then the force of the Lorilei lifting off hit him, Leo braced himself and gripped the armrests as best he could with his injured left hand. His mind drifted to his talk with Gabe and his thoughts of the games he used to play oh so long ago and he remembered one game in particular that he loved. A flight sim, and he'd taken the time to find that music once he'd returned to the hanger.
Some quick computer work and a little re-wiring to some of his systems and he could broadcast the music across the fleet with the push of a button.

OOC: Heheh Everyone else has a cool pre-battle saying. I want mine. ------ IC:
Ain addressed his whole unit over the main com channel frequency.
"Squad, this is Ain. Do you copy?"
Echoes of 'yes' and 'aye' resounded.
"If you fear death, you are already lost. If you do not fear it, then you are immortal. Join your brothers in this battle, and do not fear, for we are not lost. Now, shut the hell up for a prayer.
Hail Mary, full of grace the Lord is with thee Blessed art thou among women and blessed is the fruit of thy womb Jesus
Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us sinners Now and at the hour of our death. Amen."
The channel was silent, as everyone knew, most of them would be killed within the first few minutes of the conflict. A very somber tone underscored their task. He cut the link to the channel.
"Elisia, would you activate the Psyco-wave distorter? I don't want people aware of my position or Newtype ability."
<*Psyco-wave distorter has been activated. Distortion is at 100%. You are non-existant to other Newtypes now.*>
"Why, thank you. Now, re-open the link with the unit again."
<*Channel re-opened*>
"Squad, I know you all felt my presence leave existance. Know that I am here, but I'm being cloaked by an apparatus onboard. Take up a point defense. Once any unidentified object coming towards our current position, be ready for battle. Ready your weapons. Position yourselves so that you have overlapping fields of fire, and if combat is close quarters, do want you must. Out."

The battle group tore through the skies vertically, headed for the darkness of space above. Minutes passed and the last few clouds passed away to reveal the endless black universe. Speckled shining white stars glimmered in a distance, almost a symbol of the unreachable. As Gabriel looked on to see this wonderful view, he could not help but think of the intolerance of his Newtype brothers and sisters and how arrogant a campaign of ethnic cleansing and world domination truly was.
“Men fought each other to the death to create a ‘master race’ centuries ago, and always terribly failed; you would think that they would have learned from their mistakes by now.”<br> He was quickly broken from his reverie by an announcement from the command deck.
“Reaching deployment vector 122C. We are due south of the Shinter Orbital Fleet, Commander.”<br> “Good. Everyone, get ready.”<br> A scan of the surrounding area proved that they were unseen at the moment. But in the distance, the Shinter rear support forces could be seen in full view-seemingly coming closer. If they did not deploy ASAP, they would be unable to keep up the veil over the NA fleet.
“Beginning deployment countdown. Launch garrison drop system initiated, all suits are manned and ready for jettison. Countdown at thirty… twenty-nine…”
“Alright men, listen up! Do not rush foolhardily into battle; I know of our adversaries extremely well. Some of them are Selenians, who take pleasure in killing whosoever blindly comes at them. I know that you Naturals within MF all have quasi-psychommu, but the fact still stands that we are going against full on Newtypes, and soon hordes of Machines. But the fact still stands; when you do begin to battle, rip the enemy limb from limb!”<br> Cheers and roars echoed in reply.
“Nineteen…eighteen…”
“Hey Gabe, I think they need some motivation,” eagerly stated Leo. He knew the best thing for battle preparation would be just that.
“I got ya. Attention all soldiers, what is The Law?”<br> Every member of the Midnight Faction replied loudly and in complete unison.
“Sir, The Law is that we are not soldiers, we are beasts. We are beasts because you have made us beasts. We will not walk, we will not talk, we will not go dancing into the night. We will dress right dress right dress, ready front. And when you stand before us we will stab, twist, withdraw, AHHHHHHHH! Commander, that is The Law.”<br> “Attention all units, final launch sequence initiated in five, four, three, two, one, mark.”<br> The launch bay doors opened, as all MF suits were released. The Archangel’s wings spread fully, as its vernian drive thrusters hummed to life. HALO analyzed the distance of the enemy, who was only a mere couple kilometers ahead. Zooming in on the frontline forces, Gabriel could easily see that his adversaries were not going to be easy to defeat.
“All units, get into battle formation. Move forward on my command only. XO, are they tracking us yet?”<br> “I’m not sure. But we have to hurry up and start this attack, if not then the jig will be up.”<br> “Cruisers, move forward and commence bombardment.”<br> “Roger, commencing long range tactical bombardment.”<br> The larger heavily armed ships of the fleet moved forward, and fired a combined volley of heavy beam cannon fire directly at the awaiting Shinter fleet. After the barrage, Gabriel gave the command for all suits to move forward, and they advanced carefully, knowing that their enemy would no doubt be the most difficult that they had ever faced.

The large heat source activated the alarms of the orbital fleet. It was headed directly towards them from behind.
"Bastards got us from the rear! Is this the advance forces? It's smaller than expected." The Zaku pilots were all yelling. Although they expected some action in the back, they didnt expect it to be so early on in the fight.
'Heh, just like he thought. If we have got them this good the battle is allready decided.' Yamato thought to himself. "All right! zaku forces forward. Swarm the enemy! This is an old mobile armor design. Hit its middle section. Thats it's weakspot!"
The distant heat source moved closer with great speed and it soon became apparant that it was only one entity. It was a medium sized mobile armor.
"We dont have any data on this one! Watch yourselves!" The zaku squad leader commanded his troops.
The schwartzgeist mobile armor moved forward and sporead out its pedals like a giant flower, and except for its size, didnt appear all that menacing. It fired a few laser bolts out towards the zakus and they were easily dodged.
"Waste the mother fucker!" The zakus swarmed around the schwartzgeist as it slowed down and pulled up, revealing its underside. They fired their machine guns and panzerfausts into the now glowing middle section. It soon became so birght that it was hard to see.
"Did we get it?" The lead zaku pilot shot another panzer faust into it to make sure. The light dimmed down and it became apparant that the middle section was collecting massive amounts of energy, and was glowing from the heat. It had created a small shield aroudn the generator to protect itself. It was futile to run when the energy blasts shot out in all directions, wiping out the vast majority of zakus scattered about the mobile armor.
"Mmm, tasty." Yamato said. Everything was going according to plan. 'All of the admirals predictions were correct.' Yamato whipsered out loud. "All right, 7 up, pull up front, use your mega beam rifle and take it out at long range. That spreading beam cannon takes a while to charge, and its too far away to get us at this rate."
7 up pulled up with his nightingale and aimed at the schwartzgeist. It had finished blasting and now rotated back to its side, where the frontal shield would protect its rockets and multiple bits stored behind it.
"Ha, that shield just gave me a bigger target area, fool!" The nightingale fired its mega beam rifle, and the mega particle beam hit the shield and punctured it in one shot, destroying on of the 3 rocket engine pods. The schwartzgeist blew off course from the explosion, and rolled to one side. A second blast from the rifle hit the middle section, melting the schwartzgeist comepletely in half. The reactor was hit, and the entire mobile armor lit up in a dazzling explosion seen for thousands for miles.
"Looks like everything is going to plan. If you dont mind i think ill take off now. Ill take it as a your last act of kindness that you didnt kill me and the other shinter special forces for their failure. Its looks like you have some regrets for doing this." Miharu spoke out from her seat next to the window. The glow from the explosion outside lit up the side of her face.
"It's obvious. When you leave, tell the senior staff that they dont need to follow me." The admiral stood up, and went to the back of the room, and held up a picture of his family. It was very dated and even he looked young in the photo. "The war has gone on too long. Even after the multiple great wars we've had in the past few centuries, no end has ever been achieved, no victory for any side. All that we've had for the last few hundred years is bloodshed and chaos. This will end all of that. My family has allready left me. there isnt anythign left for me here. I have but one task left; to see this through to the end, to make sure that the people i swore to protect can finally see some peace."

The main fleet had went into full alert in the presence of an enemy in the rear. They had concentrated on keeping the enemy behind them, and did not notice the main enemy fleet comming from in front and underneath.
The Midnight faction and the Nocturne Aliiance fleet had made it safely into the upper atmosphere without being detected.
"Captain, we have incoming at twelve o clock! Large enemy fleet headed towards us, and slowing down. We're within range of fire!"
"Halt movement! dont evade it. Protect the fleet with our ships. We have the armor to take it. Our battleships will take the hits. Turn the cannons around to front. Hurry!"
The enemy fire shot towards them in one large array of light, and their ships were just sitting ducks for the enemy guns. Most of their battle ships took atleast one hit.
"Captain, we have minor damage on the front armor, and the secondary cannon turret is damaged, but still operational, but the loading bay is out."
"What of the other ships?"
"The Dori'es and Madagascar have suffered heavy damage to the front armor, but are withstanding, and they seem to have signifigant damage to their front cannons, but none are crippled. A damage report has just gotten in. One stray shot got inside and hit a Slade transport, but since the Mobile dolls were all ready deployed, the damage is insignifigant. Wait, I've received a damage report from the California. Its not able to advance and its main battery has been hit, with signifigant armor damage to its front and left side. It cannot advance and will stand its ground."
"Ok, we cant take more of this, we need to lower the distance between us. Fire at will. Keep firing at full pace. They cant back away or they will fall back into the atmosphere. They're ships aren't as sturdy as ours. They'll have no choice but to advance."
"Admiral, you realize that Haulpschalter's plan will spell just as much disaster for Spacenoids as well as Earthnoids? This isnt just about racism with justified arrogance. He's a lunatic!"
"Sometimes madmen get their chance in the spotlight because the sane cannot accomplish the insane. I suggest leaving soon. The battle is about to get heavy. The battleships will do their best to fight against the enemy fleet, but ultimately it will be up to the slades again. The shuttle will be departing soon. If you thinking Silas and Ezekiel will get here on time to stop those two from killing each other off, your crazy. If you don't leave now i guarentee you wont see this til the end."
Miharu turned from the window and left the room without saying a word. The dorr shut behind her and the Admiral dropped his hat on the table, sat back in his chair, and sighed. He held all that was left of his family in his hand, and dropped it onto the floor. The glass inside the frame cracked and a few peices landed on the floor.

"Attention all Shinter craft! I repeat! Attention all Shinter craft! This is Ain Miyamoto. I have just recieved word that the Slade line is to go to the front, and the battle ship line is to go to secondary. This is a priority alpha command."
His voice rang out loud and clear. He and his unit would also be accompanying the Slade line to the fore of the battlefield. The Upgraded Slades would crush all other Mobile Suits standing in its way.
Across the void, the advancing line showed slight surprise at the command, but continued to cautiously advance. They knew they were walking to their deaths.
"Battle ships, lay down the long range cover fire. Don't let up."

"Sir, we've taken minimal damage from the barrage of beam cannon fire ahead of us! They definitely know we are here now!"
"All operational battleships and cruisers, lay down the law with everything you've got!"
"Sir, we also report a group of Slades making their way to the front lines, moving in an attack formation. What are we to do?"
"Keep firing and keep your distance away; we don't want to get too damaged this early in the fight. Send the Midnight Faction forward."
In the meantime, the Archangel, dodging beam shots here and there, pulled out the Echo Hypercannon and began to charge its capacitor on the move.
"Alright guys, one hundred bucks to whoever nails one of those fuckers first!"
Yells of satisfaction came from the other men, who clearly tried to put a happier face on the grim situation.
"Echo energy levels at 100 percent. Fully charged, and ready to fire, Commander."
"Alright men, provide covering fire!"
Gabriel nodded, as he paused in his advancement to target the most damaged Shinter vessel he could see. After acquiring target lock, the trigger was pulled-a loud mechanical whirring could be heard as a tremendous beam of Minovsky energy was released out of the barrel traveling at mind-blowing speed. Within a couple seconds the beam connected with its target, blowing a large chunk off of its side. A proximity alert notified that the rest of the fleet was firing back, which meant time to dodge like hell.
"Shit, evasive maneuvers!"
The Archangel's vernian thrusters went into action, as the suit dodged beams left and right. The rest of the battle group did their best, but could not help but lose a couple men. Leo was right behind Gabe. After the beams cleared it was evident that the group of mobile dolls was on their way-straight to the battle group.
"Division commanders, form up right now! I need all of your combined effort to take this first wave of mecha down! Everyone else, fire from a distance, but be careful-these aren't just a bunch of humans we're dealing with!"
A majority of the Zetapluses moved into position, ready to defend the MF and awaiting the arrival of the Slades. They closed in fairly quickly, and began to fire a barrage at the squad of suits. Gabriel fired a few small energy shots at them, then switched over to his katana. Leo's arm vulcan was locked and loaded, and ready to fire.
"Hey Gabe, good luck."
"Thanks, same to you Leo."
Taking evasive action the squad picked their opponents, and moved accordingly to fight them. A fiercely isolated battle commenced, surrounded at all sides by battleship fire.
