The two men had taken him by surprise. One of them asked"What did you say, your name is Ishima right?"
"Yes, how did you know?Who the hell are you?"
"I am the pilot and this is the co-pilot, that is all you need to know.We just rescued you with a guy named Silas who works for the Shinter but we didn't know that until recently. We are taking you to the underground city of Helene. There you will receive medical attention.
"Oh.Wake me up when we get there." With that he reclined his chair(much farther than in the gundam)and went to sleep within about thirty seconds.
He was awoken about an hour later when the ship was about halway. The mechanics gave him some food and water, and then he went back to sleep.

Leo's drive through the desert was proving to be slow and rather boring. The laptop that sat open on the dash board in a special protective case had already hacked into sensors that had been placed around Alameda's ruins by other companies that wanted to examine the blast site without the risk of being exposed to deadly ammounts of radiation. Thankfully Leo had come prepared for that, his suit was more than enough to protect him.
He looked at the screen now and then and found nothing usefull as of yet, the lag time was so bad that a slow moving aircraft like a transport could probably cross over the site and he wouldn't see it. However as he drew closer the lag time decreased. It had already been an hour since he'd left and he was making pretty good time, if he was lucky he might be able to arrive in the next 30 minutes, maybe even less.

(Silas)
Silas opened his laptop and looked at the recon photos that Ezekiel took. They showed the entire area that he flew over until he started to turn. "I bet your looking for their base with these photos."
"That was the idea. Take at look at the hovercrafts trail. Since the fans underneath blew out sand it made a goiant trail for me to follow. But the winds shifted and it was obscured after a few miles. So all we can do is guess how far it went, but now that we have you..."
"Im not interested in a debreifing." Silas snapped back. What he really didnt want to do was get caught by Haulpschalter.
"I know I know. Look, ill change course for Vaun Braun. That way no one will know. Sorry, but Miharu isnt there like usual. Shes in the capital ship in the orbital fleet managing the special forces Mobile suits and details..speaking of which i got a call from her.Ill put it on."
Miharu's voice was faint but the volume was quickly raised. 'Ezekiel! Where are you going? The Captain is pissed enough allready since you didnt tell him that you were going to earth, and now your going somewhere else!?"
"Dont worry, I just had to pick up an old freind."
"What?! Silas? So your heading for the Anaheim facility?"
"Yup."
Silas broke in the conversation. "Hey Miharu. Just telling you that im allright since you were so quick to ask."
"Oh sorry Silas, I guess i was just too worked up. Ill try to be there ASAP. Once im done with Shadow and...HEY! wait!"
"What is it?! Who is Shadow?"
"Ezekiel! Shadow and Ain left for earth, they knew you were allready up. Its about an hour till they fall."
"Damn! I guess i couldnt trust them to listen afterall. Should have figured that out when i talked to them."
"So this Shadow was told to stay and is now going where? To Alameda? or to Helene?" Silas was still in the dark.
"So thats what the enemy base is called, Helene. No they are headed for the remains of Alameda. For what reason i dont know." Ezekiel expleined.
"But your needed here Ezekiel, you cant go after them, besides, we are sending a shuttle once the place is cleared of hostiles. Just get Silas to safety before..." Miharu's signal faded out.
"What happened Ezekiel?!"
"He caught on to us."

OOC: this is the attempt to get the rookies into the main story, or atleast some of them. I was gonna wait for Gabe but he aint here.
IC:
"So tell me again just WHAT am i doing here? Just because i happened to be in the city at the time." Cloud strife sat back in his chair annoyed. He was the only one in the room other than the woman that was about to conduct the debreifing. The othes either hadnt come yet or decided not to. But since cloud was somewhat 'Forced' then maybe they would have been as well.
The door opened and a man sitting in a wheelchair was pushed inside by some private. Ishima Otogato had a broken leg and arm, so both were in casts.
"Ok, now we just need Kaji Yamamoto. We'll wait another 5 minutes." The woman conducting the debreifing checked off the list for Ishima.
"Alright that's it, just what are we hear for?!" Cloud was getting pissed at the long wait.
"We are currently recruiting anyone willing and able to pilot mobile suits, either with there own or those provided. Right now we are severily low on manpower, so we decided to call even you bounty hunters and mercenaries. Hopefully your interested. The pay is good, and..."
"This is the only place for a Merc or bounty hunter to get paid." Everyone turned there heads back to the entrance of the room. Kaji stood at the doorway. "Outside is nothing but ash. The fallout destroyed all life for hundreds of miles. The only choices we have now are fight or die. Ironic isn't it? The war destroyed everything but itself."
"Yes,... so i take it that your in? What do you guys say?"

Whaen Ishima woke up he was in a hospital of some sort people were moving around a lot and none of them noticed he was awake. He saw a clock and and realized he had been out for at least 6 hours.
"OH, SHIee..."his words faded out.Someone realized he was awake and put him out with another drug. His body had built up a slight imunity to the drug becaus they had drugged him five times since he arived.
When he came around the second time he did not do anythig except say"I am awake and please, for the love of all things good, do not drug me anymore."
His vision was slightly blurry but hecould see the out line of someone and could trace the sound to them,"You are goining to be fine."
They put him in a wheel chair and took him to a room where someone who was looking seriously pissed was waiting.

Ain, Shadow, and the Zakus all landed about half a mile outside of what used to be Alameda. Their trip had gone ahead of time, and their trajectory was better than what was projected. They had cut off 14 minutes off their ETA.
"So. Now that we're here, what do we do?"
"Gee, I don't know... maybe look around. Or maybe we can all play tag inside our suits. You can choose Ain." Shadow was his usual self again, but Ain was irritated.
"You brought my ass down here to look at rocks!?"
"Wrong. You came here yourself."
"Whatever. Lets just scout around here, and look for ... stuff. I don't know what we'll do down here. I'm calling for a withdrawl transport in 2 hours. That should give us enough time."
Shadow held silent protest, but then again, the whole trip was a waste. After about 2 minutes, his scans picked up small electronic systems in their immediate vicinity. From a further analysis, his computer determined that the electronic item was a surviellance camera, and the whole network of them could be hacked for a time of about 5 minutes.
A few more commands, and he was watching live feed from all the cameras in the Alameda area. One of which he and Shadow were displayed, as well as the rest of the team.
Shadow immediately cut the feed and destroyed it's memory, without another second's thought.
"Hey! There's a car driving around. What do you say team?"
"It may be a trap, or a decoy of some form... I don't know about it."
"Hey something happened to our camera feed. But the other sensors are allright. Infrared and seismic sensors are comepletely fine. Somehow our video feeds lost all memory and are now locked." A techician said. He was one of several dozen in the area surveying the wreckage.
"What? that doesnt make any sence. Is someone tampering with our system? But who?"
"I dont know, there isnt anyone else here is there?"
"Maybe the Osiris forces are back."
"No, they were screwed over fro the last battle."
"What about that last peice of debree that fell?"
"What about it?"
"Check the seismic readings, how did it hit the ground?"
The technician looked at the graph of the seismic readings. "Like it had a parachute or some sort of propellant to slow its fall. This isnt a meteor!"
"Send word to the rest of the personel, get a coded signal back to base!"
"Yo ain, look at this." Shadow showed Ain. "It looks like they are sending a ton of signals everywhere. Ill get one and decode it." Shadow decoded one of the stronger frequencies.
'This is post 21C. This is post 21C. Suspicious unidentified object detected in re-entry. Repeat, object detected in re-entry. Sending recon team. Requesting immediate military backup.'
"This looks good." Shadow said. "Hey, now we get some fun. Right now all we'll get is personnel with rpg's but thats fine. Everyone watch your back."

OOC: is cloud being inactive, or being an ass, or both? is he even in this anymore? ill check up on that. does he know were doing this? Ill just take contorl of cloud for now until he shows himself from underneath his rock.
IC:
the woman answered Ishima's question. "Yes, its apparant that your unable to fight as of now, but we dont have time to waist, so im asking you men right now. Are you joining with our troops or not? Common, its like kaji said: there isnt any other job around here for men like you."
"Ok, ill do it. I dont have much of a choice. Besides, this might be fun." The once silent Cloud started talking.
"Good, what about you ishima?"
"I dont know..."
"Ishima, you were brought here because you were a part of the Nocturne Alliance. Their forces have been crippled and the only thing that is standing in the way of shinter's forces is the Midnight Faction. The rest of NA's forces are busy playing defence wherever they can. Besides, you cant expect us to pay for the medical bills you've been racking up. The NA is low on usable money right now, its being thrown around to different orgs, so the only way you can have a steady paycheck is with us. Now ill let you think it over."

Hawaii Street Gym, Stone Foothills sector. 1400 hours.
Gabriel decided that it be best if he got his physical training out of the way first, since the gym was a whole lot closer of a walk than the HALO repair/refitting bays. He ran a bit, not to mention did some advanced weapons training, as well as attempted to hone his newly acquired telekinetic abilities.
"Now!"
From the other end of a target range came multiple shuriken spinning directly at Gabe's body. Concentrating, he was able to make the instruments of death veer away and strike the wall behind him. He smirked and grabbed his sword that lay in the right-hand corner of the room, and walked toward the source of the weapons, Hector Ramirez.
"And you said that you were able to do this after a vision you had?"
"Yeah. When I became conscious, I told Leo to take a swing at me with my sword, and I was able to stop the blade from touching me."
"That's odd. And are you sure that there were no indications of this earlier than that moment?"
"I heard stories about times that I had visions where I screamed in pain and subsequently everything around me shook like it was in the middle of an earthquake. Other than that there has been no real indication. It just happened out of the blue."
Hector nodded, grabbing a towel for himself and tossing one to Gabe.
"I think its a good time to make our trip down to the HALO docks to see how things are going. Repairs and whatnot should be almost completed, and the new refurbished Mk IIs and IIIs ready for deployment."
Hector agreed as both men grabbed all remaining gear they brought with them, and walked out, catching the nearest transport headed off to HALO. Ten minutes and they reached their destination, quickly dismounted their mode of transport and entered the complex. It was in the middle of the workday, so needless to say there were crowds of people hustling and bustling and going every which way and direction. Making their way to an elevator, the duo prepared to meet with Harrison and the other Innovators. In moments they reached Harrison's office floor, and entered-to find that the man was dead asleep and snoring in his office chair.
Gabriel walked up to his desk and grabbed a blank sheet of paper, balled it up, and tossed it at Harrison's head. The impact was sufficient enough to wake him up and send him into a bout of confusion. His vision sharpening, he began to make out the figures of the two men in front of him.
"Ow...hey guys..."
"Sleeping on the job?"
"Just decided to take a short nap, is all."
Gabriel snickered. "Where are the others?"
"Over there in the next room, sleeping too."
Gabriel gave a slightly confused look when he heard the sounds of faint snores in the distance.
"You gotta be kidding me...you all sleep in unison or something?"
Harrison laughed. "No, we were just all tired from a late night working here. So we decided to take naps."
Gabe shook his head. Hector obscured his face with his hands, attempting to keep from laughing.
"In any case, I've got a very interesting update for you. Let's take a walk."
Harrison stumbled to his feet, and walked on out of the room, closely followed by his two guests. Five minutes of traveling and the group found themselves in the control room of the docks. Upon entering the office a voice immediately called out Gabe's name; obviously the one who wanted to make the update in the first place.
Gabriel stood behind the computer specialist that called him, peering at what the man was doing.
"Alright, thank you for coming today. I know the windows to the docks are closed right now but I will open them when the time is right to do so. First, I want you to stand on the other side and watch the window."
Gabe moved over to where he was told to go, and awaited action from the technician.
"Here we go..."
Suddenly, the heavy metal shields that covered the windows from the outside opened up to reveal the Gundam Archangel. Gabriel's mouth dropped open when he looked at his fully repaired and upgraded suit. The colors of the repainted exterior brought out every line and detail, making the mech look as if it was just a day old.
"Every upgrade and repair you asked for has been completed, including the new Flash cannon you wanted. I'd say that after strengthening that weapon, that its output is relatively close to that of the Echo cannon, even though it uses a different type of ammunition. And speaking of Echo cannon, we decided to do additional adjustments and calibrations to improve charge capacity and EMP reduction, and now you have the ability to 'jack in' to a quick recharger to reduce reloading time and e-canister usage. And the bits are completed, as well as other details including the paint job and new insignia. You like?"
Gabriel still had his mouth open, standing silent.
"I guess that means yes. We're not done yet, though. If you could, please come back over to this side and wait for me to open the windows."
Gabe shut his mouth and walked over, awaiting what seemed to be another surprise. The steel guards over the windows on the port side lifted up, revealing a sight of Mk IIs and IIIs lined up and being given finishing touches. In front of them were the Zeta Pluses, and behind were the Mk V. heavy support suits. Gabe found himself in another bout of shock.
"We are almost done here, all we need is a couple more hours and we'll be good to go. Everything outlined before we began has been implemented."
Gabriel shook himself from his trance. Clearing his throat he replied, "Outstanding job, hooyah."
The technician smiled, happy that the Commander was satisfied with his hard work.
"Do you know the story on our fleet?"
"I got word this morning that all installations and repairs there were successful, and that the ships are going through final inspection and approval as we speak. Deployment will be possible tomorrow."
Gabriel nodded and began to take his leave, followed by both Hector and Harrison. The group took a seat on a bench in the middle of an adjacent hallway.
"I'll get the troops ready to get out of here by tomorrow or the day after. We will move out via Cypress Gateway train to the nearest NA-occupied city, and will make plans to break out and fight Shinter," said Gabe.
Out of nowhere, he began to get a strange feeling that something wasn't right, and that someone was in danger. He immediately knew that it was Leo, since his intuitions insinuated that the location of the trouble was near the Alameda ruins. Concentrating and closing his eyes, he attempted to contact his friend via telepathy, but was unsure whether or not his message would reach him.
"Leo, get out of there man! There are hostiles in that area, I can feel them..."
"Gabe! You ok?"
Gabe opened his eyes to see Hector and Harrison looking at him.
"There is something going on at the Alameda ruins. Something concerning Shinter troops sniffing around. We need some more time to finish the suits, and I need to make sure Archangel is all squared away. And since we don't need to give our position away by a large troop movement, what can we do?"
Harrison thought for a moment.
"Well we can call for another nearby HALO base to deploy fast-movers for bombardment and attack, plus a few mobile suits, but other than that we can't really make a large move. The subject of prime importance is to get Leo out of there and back here, so that he won't be anywhere near the area when the fight begins."
"I'll take care of that. You radio in what needs to be deployed."
Harrison nodded and took off for the HALO central command center. Gabriel sat in silence, attempting over and over to get his message to Leo. Hector only looked over, not saying a word as well.

The laptop picked up a number of out going transmissions from the ruins. And just before the whole system went down he'd clearly seen a mobile suit. He had no idea who it belonged to or why it was there but it was plain that they were there to look for something or at least to look around.
He didn't need to be a Newtype to know that some serious fighting was about to go down and him being in that jeep wasn't a good idea. He'd stopped once he'd picked up the transmissions and tried to read what they said. The best he could do was to copy the sent messages and try to decode them later.
Leo stepped on the gas and turned the jeep around, though he'd had almost no chance to look around Alameda it was time to make tracks. He drove as quickly as he could away from the ruins. Sadly he didn't get very far.
Leo didn't even get a quater mile away before the engine stalled out. "Huh? What the?!" He muttered as he brought the jeep to a halt and climbed out. When he opened the hood and looked in he sighed and pounded the inside of the hood. There was sand everywhere, not enough to block sight of the engine of course but enough to stop it dead.
"How the hell did THAT happen? Well this is just great, now I'm stuck out here." He went around to the back of the jeep and started to grab his things. He'd been smart enough to bring a survival pack should he become stranded here in the desert though he hadn't thought to bring a radio, he didn't want the signal to be traced back to Helene after all.
If he was lucky he might be able to get a message out with his laptop if the battery lasted long enough. And staying out here in the open might not be a good idea, so he slung the survival pack onto his back, picked up his laptop and started toward Alameda to find a place to hide out.

"How...."she was cut off.
"How about one that can get up and walk, or mabey even one with a gun, you know with the one shot a minute firing ratio..."He was very ticked and was about to ask the private to take him back to the hospital for more drugging. At least he wouldn't have to listen to this idiot anymore.

Phame sat back in her room. It wasn't much of a room with only a few sheets on the ground for a bed and a card board box which held her laptop. She had not had actual human contact for several months, only scattered and encoded messages through her laptop. The shack she had found was all she needed, but she was becoming restless. Soon she would want, need, to get back out into the world. Though her physical appearance had hardly changed, mentally she was a stronger person. Months of isolation gave her only the most terrible memories to play over in her mind. She no longer cried for her father, nor feared the use of mobile suits, and flying was her dream.
As she thought about the outside world, Phame's laptop called for her attention.
"Who is it from?" she asked idly.
"It is him again, Miss Wrisin," responded the robotic female voice.
"Send it through, " Phame sighed.
"Wrisin," came the harsh voice of an older man, "You have ignored my previous transmissions and your insubordination tries my patience! Status report."
"I'm still alive, unfortunately," she yawned.
"We will send a transport for you, tell me your location," the man growled.
"In a shack," she said with a smirk, "with an old man giving me funny looks. I don't want to be picked up, just let me know when something interesting happens and you actually have use for me." she yelled from her place by the window, "End transmission."
"Yes, Miss Wrisin. Connection closed."
--- One week later ---
"I don't believe this..." Phame muttered as she stared out of the tinted windows of the transport car. "I wouldn't be surprised if this will make or break me. This is probably the stupidest thing I have ever set my mind to..." Visions of her father's accident threatened to cloud her thoughts but she pushed them away once more.
"Computer, ETA please." "One hour and thirty two minutes exactly."
Phame sighed. She had worked hard since she had made the decision to face her fears and only hoped that her work would pay off this time.

(Shadow)
Shadow grabbed his control stick and steered his Blaugeese over to the left. Smoke was rising from the street, but not the black smoke from fires. It was a light brown fog that seemed to follow the street.
"Thats a car or soemthing moving on the street. Its that jeep we saw earlier. But its leaving? Ain, What did it do in such a quick amount of time?"
"I dont know. Lets check it out."
The Blaugeese opened its vernian thrusters on its back and thrusted for a quick second, enough for it to jump over the buildings that were in the way.
Ain's gold frame Amatu used its mirage coloid and dissapeared. the dust flew up in little spots where hte Invisible gundam was running. It reappeared in front of the group and reactivated its Phase Shift armor.
A Zaku lifted its right foot and steped on the remains of a house, crushing it into dust. It blazed a trail trough the town over to the gundams that were waiting. The other Zaku just walked down the trail the first had made.
"What are you doing you damn rookie? Try not to made so much dust. They are allready bringing reinforcements. We dont want them to spot us!" Shadow yelled into his comlink. What he hated most was incompetant rookies.
"Sorry, these controls are confusing! Im not used to walking a mobile suit on the ground, most of my training had been in space."
"Allright you two. Lets get going." Ain reactivated his mirage colloid since he was only gonna face very small arms fire and he shot off down the main road.
Shadow yelled into his comlink again as if they wouldnt hear him otherwise. "OK Let's go kick some ass!" The blaugeese flew horizontal just a few dozen feet above the ground, blowing up smoke everywhere and leaving the rookie pilot convered in the dust.
The rookie instinctly covered her mouth, but realized she was in a mobile suit. She hit her control panel and moved the Zaku into a fast run. "Look whos talking."
