Miharu took the readings over to her boss. She was still saddened by the loss of Ezekiel and now probably Silas. The alternate had managed to enter Alameda, and it had most likely succeeded. She didnt go to her usual meeting place, but one closer to the elevator.
"Did it succeed?" Haulpschalter asked. He was exhausted.
He had been battling a life sized android in a dueling match with swords. It was programed with a darwine engine using the daluma project as a processor; making it undefeatable. Any mistake in it's calculations would have been fixed, and that mistake would never happen again. If there was no mistake, it would alter its thinking process to make itself more effective and to experiment with new moves. It was invulnerable in every way.
Haulpschalter's sword, covered in blood, was an unmistakable sight. It was stained crimson from the people he had killed.
The android had a diagonal red mark on its metal armor. Haulpschalter had managed to deal a mortal blow even at this late stage.
Miharu realized that she had zoned out, and quickly began to read the news to her commander.
"We have lost communication with the alternate. As of now we have no reason to believe that is has broken free, since we fixed that error in all of the newest versions. There is no indication that it has succeeded in its mission, but its life signs confirm that it has expired."
"And the field test?"
"We are currently in the process of correcting the glitches, it should be operational shortly."
"The second wave?"
"The slades are making there way into the base, they ran into some forces running away from the base earlier. We figured they were deserters, but that initial conclusion was false. They were osiris forces retreating from the battle. The Slades had wasted there time."
"Those puppets had no further use."
"They are headed towards the base, but there is one thing: the bases minovsky, infared, ultraviolet, and radiation readings are increasing steadily. We suspect that they are about to unleash a full blown assault, should we send down the Machines?"
"No, they are to remain at there posts, according to the exselsior project plans. What happened to the prototype?"
"We suspect it confronted the Alternate and was destroyed. We have lost communications from it since it reached the drop level."
"That is all. Leave."
Miharu left the room and let haulpschalter continue his sword fighting.
'Pathetic. Who would need swords in this day and age.' She thought. although it had come into style for high ranking officials to carry swords as a symbol of power, fights between them were and far between, and usually settled with mobile suit battles.
Miharu took the elevator back to the medical level and walked out.

"Sir, ETA at four minutes and counting; that gives us nine minutes until the place goes up. My direct link to outside sensors indicates that they have breached the fall line gates and have started working on getting inside. One of our mechanics has just radioed in confirming the security of the Archangel," struggled the radioman as he ran.
He was followed by Gabriel and Leo, Aimee, the Commandant, Silas, and everyone else left alive in the command center. They were almost to the Cyprus Gateway, sprinting as fast as possible to escape the coming onslaught.
"What about all our MS divisions?"
"They are almost finished securing themselves. No men but the dead were left behind."
"And our transports and NA ships?"
"They left when the civilians took off."
Gabriel nodded in reply, somewhat out of breath. He still wasn't feeling up to par, and was a bit weakened by his lack of sleep and the fight with Brian. Still, he trudged on, carrying his M4 with his katana mounted on his hip, samurai style.
Moments later they reached their destination; the last high speed train left after the civilian evacuation. Its cargo spaces were filled to the brim and packed, as well as its hangar bays. The last Midnight Faction soldiers made their way into a large formation inside the passenger car, and awaited their Commander's arrival. As soon as he stepped his foot upon the deck his XO, Hector, called the battalion loudly to attention.
"At ease, men. We don't have time to make things all pleasant and military like, so just sit down and buckle up. The Slades are coming; Intel reports that they have begun to work on opening the exterior blast doors. We are currently eight levels below them, and will be leaving in approximately two minutes. I know that some of you are saddened or angered by my decision, so if you have anything to comment on, please do so now."
There was silence throughout the deck after everyone took their seats. It seemed no one had a suggestion, until one lonely hand rose from the center of the formation.
"Yes, you, please state your name and rank, and what you want to say."
"Chief Petty Officer Henderson, sir. I feel that we had to do what was necessary, or else the consequences would surely have been gruesome death."
Another man shouted from the crowd, "They may have gotten an edge on us this time, but it will not happen again. We'll be ready for 'em."
Gabriel could see just about every soldier nodding or aggreeing in some way. They all felt the same, and knew what had to be done to prevent the destruction of the Alliance.
"Well then, hot damn. Let's get the hell out of here."
Gabriel, followed by the group of people from the Command Deck, headed to the main train car just ahead. The last few personnel and equipment was loaded onto the train, and the doors closed.
Gabriel accessed the Cyprus Gateway Interface via computer on the bridge. The others took their seats around him, and strapped themselves in.
"Welcome, Commander, to the Cyprus Gateway. Please state your destination."
"Helene City."
"Destination confirmed. At what speed?"
"As fast as possible, please. Schafer, seal the blast doors behind us and activate exterior shock absorbers."
"Aye sir, shock absorbers activated. The doors will close behind us as we leave the deck."
The computerized voice of the Gateway's interface began the launch sequence.
"All personnel secure yourselves. Launch sequence initiated, launching in ten...nine..."
Gabriel sat in the seat next to Aimee, and held her hand tight inside of his.
"Eight...Seven...Six..."
He peered into her eyes, amazed by her beauty. He took a look around at his comrades, all with looks of readiness upon their faces.
"Five...Four..."
He glanced at the dark tunnel ahead, unsure of what the future would bring.
"Three...Two...One...Launch."
The train jutted forward and took off like a bolt of lightning down the tunnel.
Meanwhile, inside the Command Center, several screens blinked information about the number of Slades making their way inside, as well as the status of the self-destruct countdown. Cameras revealed that the Shinter's mecha of terror penetrated all outside entrances, and began making their way to their preset target-the Command Deck itself.
The counter showed its numbers very clearly...
00:01:09.
The Slades rushed deeper and deeper into the complex, completely annihilating any mobile suit scrap left behind. Combat computers estimated that a majority of the Slades made it inside, and were actively searching for something living to vaporize.
00:00:30.
The train tore down the tunnel at its top speed, so as to escape the shockwave radius in time.
00:00:15.
The first few Slades made their way into the Command Deck, still searching for targets but unfortunately unable to track any.
00:00:01.
One of the lead Slades happened to take a look at the overhead monitors, to see the mocking expressions of yellow smily faces painted on the screens.
00:00:00.
The explosives lodged everywhere inside of the complex went first, followed by the blast of a thermonuclear device in the heart of the building. Every Slade inside, as well as in the surrounding area instantaneously vaporized along with the rest of the base and the ground above. It was a relatively low yield weapon, but was effective enough to do the job.
Gabriel glanced at the status screens ahead of him to see that the train had barely missed the edge of the shockwave. Due to innovations in shock absorbption nothing was felt other than minor vibrations. The many blast doors that sealed the path behind the train fulfilled their duty, keeping the most precious heart of the Nocturne Alliance alive and well.

Shadow activated his blaugeese after the repairs to the rockets were complete. After getting in his cockpit he got a few messages from his comrades.
Zaku #3: "Sir, The enemy forces have begun to retreat. They havent gone after us in about 10 minutes, and they are now all out of sensor range. What's going on?"
Ain: "I know whats going on! It's a trap. They allready know we are crippled and stuck here. Why else would they retreat?!
Shadow: We need to get out of here.
beep-beep: [Message from slade #4] Shinter Slade forces penetrating western hangar. No forces encountered.
Ain: "Damn! this whole place is quiet! We got to leave now!"
Shadow: "Yeah, all troops, were calling off the attack and retreating to the outside of the base. Slades escort forces."
The slades surrounded the other mobile suits and gundams as the party left the eastern hangar bay. there were no more MKII's anywhere, but a few smoke columns in the west showed that something had happened.
Shadow and the other human members of the squad received a message from the shinter commanding battle cruiser just outside of the atmosphere. They had broken radio silence to contact the group so it must have been important.
"Shinter pre-assualt squad, the heat signatures of the base continue to rise dramatically, leave the sector at once. I repeat, leave the sector at once."
"Oh Damn!"
The Shinter forces flew at max speed away from the base. The boosters on the zakus havent been used yet, and this was as good as a time as any.
The gigantic explosion threw everyone to the ground and the shock wave took out there sensors, but they had survived

Thanks to the his cybernetic enhancments Leo had connected himself to the main computer, it was a low level connection which allowed him to remotely access the basic systems of Alameda. He confirmed that only the dead were left behind as he walked onto the train with Gabe and the others. Caligo had been stored and transported safely away along with Archangel so all that was left was to get them out.
He took his seat and strapped himself in, sitting across from a soilder who was younger than him and looked as nervous as Leo felt. He gave the young main a friendly smile as his HUD showed him the count down, the status of the Slades making their way through the base. It also showed that his download was 85% complete, he didn't know if there had been time to sort out who was alive or not so Leo had taken it upon himself to make a copy of all the personel files. Later he'd sort through them to find out who had died and would see that proper funeral rites were preformed when they were all safe.
As the train shot away Leo kept watching the count down, a sense of dread going through him. It seemed that no matter where he went he could never call anyplace home. Neo Selene wanted him dead, and now Alameda was destroyed. He didn't even have the tiny asteroid hanger where he'd stored the Zero Alpha anymore. Just before the count hit zero Leo noticed that many of the monitors were showing mocking smily faces, he smiled grimly and added his own though he doubted that that Slades would see it. It was that of a skull and cross bones laughing.
The shock of the explosion was barely felt aboard the train when Alameda was destroyed. Leo leaned back in his chair and sighed, his eyes closed. To a lot of these men they had lost a home, for him it was worse. He'd lost Selene, Neo Selene didn't want him and now a second home was gone, it was almost too much to bear. And for what? The abalities of a New Type? To be able to pilot a Gundam better than a normal pilot? There were times when Leo would count himself lucky for that, but this wasn't one of those times. Today it didn't feel like it was worth it at all, he didn't even feel like fighting anymore.
He unbuckled himself and stood, he made his way toward the back of the train and looked through the window on the back door, watching the tunnel whip past. How easy it would be to open the door and throw himself out....to end it all and finally be at peace...... His hand got as far as touching the door panel when he stopped. No, that was the cowardly way out.
He walked away and back toward the front. He stopped when he saw Gabe and Aimee, he felt envy even a little jealousy and anger. They were happy and he wasn't, did he not diserve the right to be happy? To love and maybe even have a family? He shook his head again and then backed up a step, this wasn't the time to entertain such thoughts, but still.....
"Gabe......is it really worth it? Everything I've done for the NA? Is any of this worth it?" His voice was soft, almost a whisper as he sat down on the floor with his back against the wall. He let his head hang as his black thoughts ran rampant, all he wanted was to be happy. He just wanted to be happy, was that too much to ask? Why did every good thing have to be taken from him? Why did his mother have to die at the hands of his drunken father? She was such a kind woman......so gentle and warm.
Leo drew up his legs and rested his head on his knees his tears flowed freely but he didn't sob or cry out. He just whispered one word over and over.
"Mama........."

"Whoa, thanks alot Shadow for the warning. Without your sensors or attention, we would all be alot closer to the thermonuke."
Ain felt shaken, after being shown how weak all humans were. All it took was one bullet to put an end to one. Not many people feel their own mortality, but when they do, their symptoms mirrored Ain's.
"Sure, but you don't need to thank me. That's want soldiers do for their unit. They don't let them fry you idiot."
Indeed, Shadow again lacked the emotion to feel shaken or almost-dead. Looking at him, you'd think that he was taking a walk down the street. Maybe he knew in the back of his mind that they would make it out. Alive.
"Unit, I'm sending the coordinates of the withdrawl point to your HUDs. At this point, the unit will be picked up by transports and debriefed. After that, we will report back to Haulpschalter."
Exiting the East Hangar, was like entering a burned world. Smoke rose from all directions in impenitrable pillars, billowing their toxic fumes into the darkened sky. All around there were mobile suits with holes through their heads, torsos, and appendages, bleeding lubricant, oil and gas onto the battle scarred field.
Looking back at Alameda, it was amazing to see what transformation it had undergone being decimated in the past day or so. Starships had crumbled upon the base, as well as countless waves of assorted suits breaking against the fortress like water upon a cliff in their suicidal efforts to breach the mightly Alameda's walls. Needless to say that the attempts hadn't failed.
Refocusing his eyes upon his Navigation HUD, he saw the red point on the screen flashing repetitively. 20.364 miles, 19.132 miles, slowly ticking down as the company grew closer to the destination.
The count almost resembled a timed bomb, ready to detonate as soon as their suits stood upon the ill-fated terrain. Paranoia was not far from Ain.

Gabriel glanced over at Leo, who was sitting and sobbing against the wall. He knew what Leo was thinking, by not only reading his thoughts but by his Newtype intuitions, not to mention hearing Leo's question loud and clear.
"I don't know yet for sure whether or not your contributions have meaning to what we are fighting for. I can't even tell if all of our contributions will do something. These are just answers that I cannot give to you yet."
He paused, unbuckling himself from his harness and standing up. He stretched his arms wide, attempting to get all the kinks out that had formed with sitting down in the hard and somewhat uncomfortable seats of the train.
"Damn it Leo, we're Newtypes; we're not even supposed to be on the Naturals' side. But why do many of us keep on fighting along with them? Some might say its the right thing to do, others might say because it is our duty."
He motioned for Aimee to come over, and she did so. She had unbuckled herself minutes earlier, for she had become uncomfortable with the seats as well. Gabe took her into his arms, hugging her from behind.
"I say it is a matter of choice. Aimee here is the main reason behind my choice. I do it for love, and for freedom. I also do it for revenge-for the preservation of humankind, and for the hope of a promising future. You have not yet seen signs of what is coming, but I have witnessed it in my dreams and in my thoughts. The future haunts me like a phantasm, like a shadow that plagues my existance nearly every moment of the day. Visions come in small fragments, but each time add on to each other to create a bigger picture. Trust me, based upon the truth that the visions imply, you are doing the right thing, and are taking the smartest path."
Leo lifted his head.
"I know that you feel alone right now, but listen: although you may think that you have no family, you are dead wrong. What do you think you and I are? Brothers. We've known each other forever, and have been through so many countless battles and military engagements together, how can you believe that we aren't like family? Even during the moment you came here and helped out with the Midnight Faction, you became a part of a brotherhood of soldiers all believing in the same cause. You might have lost homeland after homeland, but you cannot sit and dwell on it forever! You have to move on to bigger and better things, and realize that it is the past, and it is unchangeable. Look forward, and not back. And although you may not realize it, no matter what you go through in your life, I will be there. Both me and Aimee will."
"If you don't want to continue the fight for the preservation of freedom or for humanity, do it for your own survival, and for the memory of the Old Selene! The Selene that we used to know."
Leo was silent, still with tears running down his face.
"Now lets finish this campaign, and show the world just how much damage two leaders and a small army can cause."
Gabriel outstretched his hand, awaiting Leo's response, just as the train slowed to a stop at its destination.
The female computerized voice of the CGI welcomed them.
"Destination reached, welcome to Helene City."#nosmileys

Ezekiel flew past the array of ships lined and ready. They had been patiently waiting, and the new machine mobile armors would be the spearhead for their new campaign. Othe mobile suits and armors formed their own group to the rear. A white gundam with 4 wings headed the group.
His machine was unique. It was a prototype version, so it had features of both the mass producton and the Ace type. Its short wavelength Positron wave blast had come in handy in multiple occasions, and the minovsky drive system was the best their was. But all of these good features just made one point clear: this was an unstoppable weapon and Ezekiel weilded it.
'It is said that the best weapon is the one that is never used, but few abide by that. The most infamous battles were between two great weapons. And that would be repeated again, inevitably.' Ezekiel said into his log. He made it his ritual to do this every once in a while, so if he were to die atleast the truth wouldnt go with him.
'I need to get there before he does.' He thought. There were many events occuring that seemed to be out of everyone's control, but he wasnt just anyone. He had to get back to "The Test Subject" before Haulpschalter did.
On the surface of the earth a bright light glowed where alameda was. It stayed bright white for some time.
'Only a nuke could make that explosion.' He thought.
"This is Ezekiel, Caalius, respond." He sent a message to the fleets Admiral.
"This is Admiral Callius. If this is about that nuke explosion dont worry. Weve made contact with our ground forces. They are being picked up by a booster equiped atlantis shuttle. They will link up with us soon. There is one thing though. They said that the enemy forces retreated before the place went up."
"What! so your saying it wasnt suicide?"
"The slade reports confirm it. Take a look at this."
A picture came up in its own window of a skull and crossbones laughing, out of one of the computer monitors, just before feed stopped.
"That doesnt look like they were planning to quit."
"No it doesnt. We are scanning the area now, but because of the fallout its most unlikely that we will find anything."
"Huh, figures. what about the ground team?"
"They are badly damaged, plus out of fuel, well get a recon MF underneath the fallout and cloudcover. LEave that to me. By the way, where are you going? As far as i know your ordered to head the main assault force."
"I have something i need to do first. It wont be long"

The place was dark. I couldnt see anything. A large, glass cylinder was lit by a light to the left, from the light blue monitors on a table. There was something inside. The glare on the cylinder whited out whatever it was. It floated in place, not moving. Metal things came out of its head and spine.
Everything was shades of orange. Little bubbles came up in front of me at random times. There was a glare in front of me as well. Another image was one it. It was close and too blurry to see. My eyes strained to focus on it, but they couldnt move. I tried harder, only to realize that it was my reflection.
My body couldnt move. People came and went into the room, i could tell by the white clothing that they wore. Everything was a blur. Where was I? How did i get here? Who are they? All i could do was think...
Images of people i knew and events that occured passed through my head. Green mobile suits, dark blue Gundams. Debree falling through the atmosphere and melting apart. Black...black surrounding a few lights so far away i could never touch them. Before all of that i was in a hangar with my Gundam. There were others with Gundams as well. What happened to them? I sensed to no panic, but anger and sadness. They were still functioning.
The people left and the lights went completely off. One of the persons was surprised and happy. She seemed eager. I didnt know why i knew but just did.
I tried to escape but it was useless. The lights came back on and blinded me. A dark figure entered and began typing. The sound of the buttons clicking was slightly smothered by the liquid i was suspended in.
My eyes hurt again. This time from something else. Everything blackened out and all i could see was bright flashes of orange, blue, and white coming from in front of me and going past. I had seen this before.
What ever was holding me up let go and I began to sink, and my feet touched the bottom of the cylinder. I was standing on my own. I regained use of my body. I looked up and saw the man leave the room...
(Silas)
Silas layed down in the train with his palm pilot and laptop on his stomach. he had been typing, but satelite feeds were useless. There were multiple nuclear explosions, a war, and falling space cruisers to block out the signal. Not to mention that this was a maglev train in a vacuum tube going atleast 500 miles an hour.
Silas saw gabe and the others talking, and leo crying on the floor. Silas knkew how he felt. To be thrown around like some dog and never have a place to call home. But silas had done it on his own accord. Mainly to stay alive and to get to the top of things. It had occured to him that if he wanted to accomplish his goal he would have to go back into space...where this all started.

His gundam flew backwards and into the ground. all sensors showed a giant mass all around him he felt searing pain course through his body before he passed out.
When he came round his sensors were all offline except for structrel integrity sensors. At first he thougt they were damaged as well, due to pain which had only intensified since he'd passed out it took it awhile before he realized that the sensors were not damaged, but that 3/4 of the ship were destoyed or smashed so they were unusable.
Some of his pain he could understand because he could see where his bones jutted out at his right leg and left arm. He tried comuications though he knew they wouldn't work. He was surprised that they did work. "This is Ishima Otogato of the Black Shadow. My gundam is mostly destroyed. Requsting imediate help and evac." He could now only hope this message was received and trasmited to someone he could count on.

Gabe's words washed over him, his thoughts became more and more scattered until those words came to him. Do it for old Selene......... Leo laughed though his tears, Gabe was right this wasn't the time to dwell on the past he had to keep going foward. He had to see this thing through to the end no matter what. He'd remembered an old saying that fit him well, when the rabbit is caught between the wolf and the bear it doesn't matter which one he choses the rabbit will always lose. If Leo went out on his own now the enemies of the NA and Neo Selene would come for his head.
Well it was time this rabbit learned to kick some ass.
He extended his hand and grabed Gabes, hauling himself to his feet with a small smile. "Thanks......I needed that....." He scrubbed his tear stained cheeks and laughed again, feeling foolish for actually crying. He looked out one of the windows and tilted his head to one side. "So we're in Helene City huh? So what do we do now? Half the solar system is after us so setting up a base might not be a smart move."
Leo was changed at that moment, something in him was very different now. Weither it was because he was a Newtype or because of the current events was unclear and ultimately didn't matter. He couldn't dwell on the past and let it weigh him down he had to keep moving. Maybe they couldn't win this war but after today the enemies of the Nocturne Alliance would learn that they wouldn't go down without a fight.

Gabriel was glad that his words made an impact, and gave a smile when Leo stood to his feet and brushed himself off.
"Yeah, this is Helene City. I've been here once; its a nice place but extremely crowded during rush hour."
He thought for a moment, as the troops and cargo from the train began to be unloaded. There was much hustle and bustle around the station.
"You're correct, setting up a base wouldn't be smart. But we do need to regroup and rearm ourselves, and just get some rest; and this is the perfect place to do all that. There is a reason why we headed HERE, and not some other NA city nearby. First of all, this place is completely underground, and so heavily armored, camouflaged, and well defended that it should serve us well as a temporary habitat. Plus the fact that no people outside MF, NA Intelligence, and even the city itself know of its location nor existence. And there is no chance for anyone to view our fleet from the air; every ship and craft we have left is docked underground, and the only points of entrance or exit are hidden tunnels placed at random points within a two mile distance, making the central complex nearly untraceable."
Gabriel stepped out of the lead car and stretched his legs. He was followed by his comrades that took their place inside the same car as well, who also stretched out after the most uncomfortable ride along the Cyprus Gateway. He immediately relieved the Command Deck guards and let them rush along with the rest of the soldiers to the barracks to get cleaned up, showered, and to get some much needed rest.
"Oh, and not to mention to whom this city belongs..."
Gabriel raises his arm and points to large words painted upon the adjacent station wall:
H.A.L.O. Industries Helene City Population Center Cyprus Gateway Station 12
"Needless to say, being the supplier of NA weapons, and not to mention a corporation built of both Naturals and Newtypes supporting our cause and working together for a better tomorrow, it is a sanctuary for rebuilding efforts. Oh yeah, and those weapons protecting us from attack? They are the most advanced and most powerful the company has to offer. Trust me, we'll be just fine here, for a while."
The others of the group departed in their own directions, for whatever purpose to their liking, leaving Gabe, Aimee, and Leo alone.
"Well, I dunno about you two, but I need a drink before I fall over from this exhaustion. Sake, anyone?"

(Silas)
Silas put out his cigarette on his exposed arm and it made a black circle. In the past few months he had been shot twice, knifed, and irradiated. An minor burn meant nothing.
He picked up his Sake cup and drank the entire thing at once. The cups small size was often overlooked, but Sake was extremely strong.
"Leo, you sire you can drink in such a condition?" Silas commented. Leo had the worst of luck out of the group.
Silas picked up the papers he had received. Just as had planned. Miharu saw to it that the new Gundam Zeta Plus were to be shipped from the ground facility. The midnight faction would receive these top of the line Gundams and add them to their arsenal. There was a set of numbers on the bottom of the last page. Silas knew that it was the signal frequency and wavelength for a satelite feed. He left the room with his equipment, it never left his side.
Silas hacked into a comminucations center and sent a secure signal up to Luna.
"Silas!" Miharu was happy to see hear his voice after so long.
"Miharu...is everyone fine? How's Ezekiel? Hows the te...how is Enoch?"
"Huh..." Miharu's voice turned sad. "Ezekiel is...He left for...the replacement..."
"What! He tried to stop it?! What happened?"
"We lost contact with him after that...and the replacement went down to earth. Luckily we lost that too. Atleast its gone. heh." miharu gave a little fake laugh.
"By my hands."
"What?"
"I killed it. Its carcass was nuked. Thats one less."
"Silas...there is one other thing.."
"It's your boss, i know that he"
"No, thats not it. You dont understand. You have to get out of there now. I know your underground but doesnt matter when"
"The Ace types, their complete arent they? So they must be...but what are they waiting for? They should have started by now."
"I dont know. He planning something. Enoch is a part of this too. I dont know how."
"I know how...I suspected it for some time...SHIT! I got to go!"
Silas disconnected his laptop and ran before the security could find him. He made it back to the others.
"Where did you go Silas?" Gabe asked.
"To talk to someone. I dont know if your commander decided to interupt your R&R, but we're getting a shipment of Zeta plus's from Anaheim's Electronics ground distribution facility. My treat. Heh. Dont worry i pulled some strings. The shipment is 8 A1 type that are designed for atmospheric flight and 8 C1 types for Space flight."
"Just 16, thats nothing."
"Hey, these are some expensive, top of the line products, man. Your lucky you got this much."

Gabriel thought for a moment.
"My lieutenants and other highly skilled members of the MF will get these; but what to do about the others? Maybe upgrades and repairs are in order..."
He unclipped his radio from his belt.
"Dr. Alex Harrison, this is Commander Gabriel Fox of the Midnight Faction requesting your assistance."
Moments passed, and the man replied.
"Hey Gabriel! How can I be of service to ya?"
"We just arrived from Alameda, and my troops and gear are both worn out. Is it possible to take all of my remaining Mk. II Gundams and revamp them, as well as repair and strengthen them?"
"Yes, its possible. I'll sit down with the other three and talk to them about it."
"How long would it take?"
"Maybe a few days to a week, considering the fact that the MS hangars are empty and we have plenty of personnel to help. I'll get back to you later with a solution."
"Thanks, Al. Fox, out."
Silas and Leo looked a little puzzled.
"That was Dr. Alex Harrison."
"Who? And what did he mean by 'the other three'?" asked Silas.
As Gabriel clipped his radio back onto his belt, he began to explain:
"Dr. Alex Harrison, Dr. Nicholas Allen, Dr. Nathan Lewis, and Dr. Angelina O'Connor. H.A.L.O.-the name is an acronym. When Harrison talked about 'the other three,' he was speaking about the other three colleagues of his. Together they are called the 'Four Innovators,' and for damn good reason. Each are experts in their respective fields of study, and joined together to give hope to Natural-Newtype stability through technological advancements and R&D. Did you know that they started piloting and repairing mobile weapons when they were only young teenagers?"
Leo and Silas both looked blankly back at him.
"What...it just so happens that I know the head CEO personally, and know the history of the company...I am just lucky enough to have connections in some very high places you know...."
"Yeah, like the Commandant of Alameda being your uncle, for example..." Leo shook his head.
"That doesn't count; he's family, and that is only a coincidence."
Gabriel picked his glass of sake and gulped its remains, clearly being affected by its strength by the expression on his face.
"Anyways, who's up for a drinking game?"#nosmileys

Leo sipped at his own sake quietly and very very slowly. When asked if he was ok to drink he merely nodded his head and finished his first cup. As long as he didn't go overboard he'd be fine. In truth he was pretty tired and he really didn't feel like waking up with a headache, his thoughts were interupted when Gabe spoke over his radio. For the most part he kept his comments small or stared blankly when the situation called for it.
But when Gabe suggested a drinking game Leo stood up and shook his head. "No thanks guys, I'm pretty worn out. I don't think I've slept since the attack on Alameda started, in fact I'm pretty sure I haven't. So if you don't mind I'm just going to go find a bed and crash out." That said he nodded to everyone politly and walked out of the galley, stumbling slightly but not from the Sake. Nearly three days of no sleep were starting to catch up to him at an alarming rate. He passed by the barracks asigned to them without seeing them and wandered into the city.
Fortunatly for Leo he found a public data terminal, to save time he interfaced with it directly by touching it instead of typing in commands. He let his brain work on automatic to hunt through all the files for the nearest hotel which turned out to be a mistake. If his brain was tired then the computer system in his brain wouldn't work properly either.
He recived three locations on a map, marking these in his head he started off with blood shot eyes and a hunch in his shoulders. The first location was no good because it was already filled to bursting with officers from Alameda that didn't want to stay in the barracks like him. The second location didn't work because it wasn't a hotel. It was a bowling alley.
The third location turned out to be a hotel but at this point Leo was so tired that he'd forgotten to check in. He simply walked up to a door and tried to open it, when he couldn't he made a very sloppy interface with the lock panel and opened the door. He stumbled into the dark room still wearing his pilot uniform, he made out the shape of the bed and crawled under the sheets gratefully.
What he didn't notice was the woman already asleep in the bed.
