"Did the pilot return to us, or was he vaporized?"
"He has returned sir. Unfortunately we lost the weapon."
"How far along is the Durer?"
"Almost completed. Schafer needs to run a systems data check before he closes out the hard drive."
"And the others?"
"Coming along. Gustav is nearing completion, and so is Greif."
"Good. We need them ready as soon as possible. I want the pilot-when he returns-to take Gustav. We must show them that we aren't merely a splinter faction, but now a sovereign superpower."

"Sir, an unregistered mobile suit has been detected heading towards our location. His weapon is not armed, and he is slowing down at the perimeter. I putting him on visuals now."
The main monitor turned on to show a F90 type gundam standing at the perimeter. Its gun was down, and the pilot opened his cockpit.
The camera zoomed in to show a man with a long white coat, and a long black pony tail. Strangely, he was wearing cowboy boots. He gets back into his cockpit.
"Sir, he is sending a message."
"Take it."
"This is Shadow. I am a pilot for the Shinter Mechanized Infantry. Grant me access. There is a matter in which we need to discuss. It involves the Nocturne Alliance Senate. The ones Brian failed to find."

"Nocturne Alliance senate? Very well. Access granted."
The radio operator paused a moment, then talked to his superior once more.
"Sir, are you sure about this?"
"Definitely. Any representative from Shinter is welcome to give us information on our enemy."
"Understood. But, sir, are you sure we are able to trust Brian again? I mean, he did lose us the Gestell, and in my opinion I think he should be punished for his failure."
"SILENCE! If I wanted your opinion, I would have asked for it!!!"
The operator is silent.
"Besides, Brian is the most capable pilot we have right now. He is the only one who has trained extensively on the HALO system."

Shadow exited his cockpit onto the walkway extending to his gundam. he was inside the base now, and surronded by osiris persononel.
Shadow Master was escorted to a room, presumably for meetings, and there were dark figures at the other end of the table.
'typical' Shadow thought.
"Allright ill go straight to the point. As you know i have with me the Senate of the Nocturne alliance, your former group. The NA wants them back, and we are willing to sell them for a 'price'. You probably want to know why we are telling you this. The fact is we know how dirty the NA plays. We needs support and backup for this exchange. So are you willing to help or what?"

TEXT A good few yards away, standing atop the opening hatch of a never before seen black suit with deep red outlineings, was a young woman with long dark midnight blue hair tied loosely back in a long ponytail.
"Hmm....interesting..." she mummered to herself as she stood on the hatch while a smirk made it's way across her face, "Things seem to be getting interesting more and more now."
She ducked down into the cockpit of the suit and sat there in the pilot seat while she flipped a few switches the hatch door closed and the suit stood there hidden in camoflauged mode, something she installed not to long ago. "All I have to do now is wait to see what happens."

"We'll send backup, yes. We are, after all, rebels-and a group that wishes to take down the NA at any cost."
The man paused, then slid over a folder of data files concerning currently deployed mobile weapons.
"As you can see from that list, our forces are expanding now as we speak. I will commit two RX-79[G]Ez-8s, and two RX-79s. I will deploy the Gustav as well. Brian will accompany you to the negotiation site. If he gets out of hand, kill him."

Shadow looked at the folder's contents. "Ok... I was expecting help, not some lunatic that you dont care for. What I really want is a nuke. I know you have plenty in storage somewhere. This will be a backup plan just in case. i have no intention of killing myself. thats why I dont want brian. whoever he is, you made him sound suicidal. Do you have any beam interference missiles? they would come in handy as well. I have a 18 wheeler ready with the senate inside. That can also carry the nuke in case they try anything. This will be a great chance to score some dough for the Osiris rebels. I can set the price to anything I want and they will pay."
So what do you say, do i have the nuke?

"That lunatic is the only one who can pilot Gustav. He's not suicidal; he just has a problem with following orders. And I don't want to lose the Gustav like I lost the Gestell."
The man stands to his feet.
"About the nuclear weapon; I cannot give you one at this moment. Plus the fact that I don't really trust you, if I gave you one I'd be in total control of the weapon anyway. What I can do for you instead is arm you with those beam interference missiles you asked for, and give you a high-explosive large-yield conventional bomb as a backup plan. It is patterned after a Daisy Cutter, and will still leave the graveyards accessible if it is detonated."
He pauses for a moment to clear his throat.
"Why, you might ask? Because we wish to keep the graveyard free of radiological hazards, so my organization's efforts to hide troop movements will be successful on our way to regain Alameda."
The man and his advisors leave Shadow alone in the room.

Shadow just stood there for a few seconds taking in everything that happened during the meeting. "I will take whatever help I can get I might need it in case of any accidents". He then turned around and proceded to head back to his mobile suit along with his support and then proceded to head back out to their next destination.... but before they left they made sure that the bomb was secure on the unmarked eighteen wheeler....

But as Shadow and his new allies were leaving, a worker intercepted them before they could get out. He was followed close behind by a group of men rolling a large object labeled with a nuclear radiation symbol...
"Shadow! My leader changed his mind. We've brought you a simple 15 kiloton yield warhead. It isn't the strongest we have, but it can still cause enough damage."
The workers load the nuke on the 18-wheeler, and remove the high-explosive bomb.

The alarm sounded inside the command center, and a spot appeared on the giant map.
"Sir, a F90-Plunge type gundam is walking towards the base. Its with a 18 wheeler truck. They are now within our intercept range. We are picking up a signal. Should we receive it?"
"Yes, we have been expecting this."
The main monitor lit up with a gundam walking towards the wall. It's giant sheild slowed down it's pace considerably. When it stopped, the signal was sent.
"This is Shadow. I have the remains of the Noctune senate. Name the place for exchange and ill go there. My price is 15 million dollars. And dont try anything funny. This truck is set to explode whenever i want it to. All i need to do is press this button."
Shadow held up the button so all could see. By the look on his face they knew he was serious.
"Ill say once again. Name the place of the exchange. I know you can get that amount of money, so there will be no delays..."

Inside the food court of the Shinter HQ, he was eating his dinner of a hamburger and fries, and contimplating when his next action would be.
Staring at the Announcement Board, he saw his name on it, under the departing pilots. By the looks of things, he was to be paired up with another rookie code named Shadow to finish up the NA senate business. He let out a sigh and jogged off to Hangar #04, where his Swift Wind was kept.
After about five minutes of jogging, he hit the keycode into the door computer and floated off in the direction of his Gundam.
"Hey! What the hell are you doing to her?" Ain shouted. The mechanics were adding something to the Gundam's stabilizers and thrusters.
"We are adding the space combat modules to your Gundam's stabilizers, as well as boosting the thruster output max. up by about 500 points. It should give you an extra kick, especially in space!" He certainly was hell bent on it. "besides, your outta here in 10 kid. better strap in and check her up!"
Ain realized that his business was urgent, so he got in the cockpit, ran through his prefight checks, and was out of the hangar bay in 7 minutes, not 10.
-
About an hour later, he arrived on the desolate moon. There was only a slight glitter of light coming from his east, so he went to it, as his sensors told him it was 'Vaun Braun City'
'Swift Wind, send a private broadcast on an encrypted channel to Shadow.' He commanded his suit with words only, and it instantly obeyed.
"Get your suit up here on the moon kid, and do the exchange here. Those shifty NA types could mug you down there. I am stationed in Vaun Braun City, waiting for you. Don't do anything stupid, or both our asses are toast.
Dont forget, you are under my command soldier. Ain Miyamoto out"
The comm winked out as he began to put his suit in a meteor crater so it wouldn't be detected via satellite. Only an up close person would be able to spot it. He got into his space suit, locked the hatch, and began to use his mini-jet pack to get to the city.

Ain flew into the city, and slowly landed with his mini-jetpack, on top of a skyscraper, about 14 stories high. He switched off the output, and brisky pulled out a pair of electro binoculars.
They would only be good for seeing things that were already incoming, not too much distance behind these in terms of interstellar travel. He turned them on and switched the main function on to scanning, which would tell him when there were incoming objects.
"Damn kids. Don't even listen to you. Even if you're 38." He was referring to Shadow and the rest of the Shinter company that was supposed to be here by now, but after all, most pilots were fashionably late to everything.
After about another 20 minutes of watching the sky, the binoculars locked on to a rather large incoming object. It could either be a mass of MS or a huge destroyer type ship.
Ain could only hope they were friendly craft.

Shadow was waiting for a reply from the Alameda base, which looked very small above ground, but he knew it would be far larger below ground. Up here all he saw through the thickening fog was a heliport and other unarmored buildings.
Just then he got a message from Another Shinter operative. The signal was weak, and it came from the moon. "Heh, i dont care who the hell you are. I have a mission plan and im gonna follow it. What you want to do up there doesnt mean SHIT to me. Shadow out."
The fog was rolling in from the coast and the mountains, even if they were far away, the geography of this area was excellent for trapping humidity and blocking wind.
"Now all I need to do is wait for the Nocturne bastards to return my call." Shadow sent another signal to the base.
"What the hell are you waiting for?! If you dont respond I just might press this switch!"

Dumass rookies. You could never trust'em.
Things were looking good, as the mass of MS Ain had sighted turned out to be 4 Shinter Zakus, and 3 Shinter Slades. Perfect.
"Well, at least some people had courtesy and respect." Ain murmured to himself. By the looks of things, the Shadow kid wasn't going to be here anytime, but there was more pressing matters at hand.
One of the Zaku's pilots came out of their cockpit, and signaled him over a private comm channel. +Hey Ain, Shinter sent us here. Something about a floatilla in the area?+
+I have no idea what's going on at this point. One of our operatives is choosing not to show because of conflicting orders, and it looks like now we just gotta wait for something to happen+
+Yessir.+
+Now get back inside your MS, and watch for incoming flying objects in the sky, and Slades, set up a point defense around our current perimeter. Send an alert if there is hostile MS in the area. Miyamoto Out.+
After this hectic conversation, Ain thought twice about leaving his Gundam two blocks away, and started running over to it. When he was almost inside of it, the comm signal beeped violently.
- Priority Alpha Transmission... accept? -
+Yes+ he splurted out. Is this an attack on their position?
There was a buzz of static, then a crackly voice. It was his old partner, Drake.
+Ain you idiot, some how, I got pair up with you and your hell bent operation by Shinter HQ. I'll be in the moon's gravity in about 20 seconds. Don't shoot me down asshole. Drake out.+
That was a surprise, but Ain wasted no time telling his point defense to allow Drake in the perimeter.
+Let operative Drake into the no-fly zone zaku team.+
+Yessir. Zaku leader out.+
Ain leapt inside his Gundam, and walked back into the protected perimeter by the three Slades. He turned to his right to be greeted by a Shinter transport. It landed outside of the 'zone,' and there was a transmission coming in from them.
"Ain, I thought Shinter told you to take a TRANSPORT to Vaun Braun, and that goes for the rest of the MS under your jurisdiction. Renegades can be court martialled at anytime." They didnt play when they were mad..
"Uhhh, sorry, I guess I missed that part of the briefing. Could you give me and the unit legit clearance into the city? I know its a stretch, but if you could, drinks are on me..."
"We'll see what we can do, but don't expect to get off scot-free. This wasn't one of those 'minor infractions.' After that stunt back at the Seven Cities, and now this, you're geting reckless."
"My bad... well, at least I got the senate eh? oh. Yeah. Sorry ...sir."
Discipline wasn't his strong point.
"And Ain, there is no floatilla in the area, and not for another couple hundred thousand kilometers. The information you recieved is faulty. Please check your facts before you go gallavanting around the solar system."
"Yessir." Wasn't the beating they were giving him enough? "I'll try harder next time."
"Soldier, you don't try, you do or die. That is all." And with that, he turned and walked back inside the transport, and gave similar repremants to the rest of the unit.
